Steam with Tepidizer

Recommended Posts

I've refined the tepidizer steam generator. It works with polluted water producing dirt and clean steam (something i could never managed pre TU. heh).

Both valves are set to 2.5kg. It does need constant power supply or tepidizer will overheat.

Cycle 10 overview. 756kg of dirt generated.

Cycle 10 Temps. Tepidizer hardly ever goes above 100oC - no breakages ever with Gold Amalgam.

With it's 20.7kW heat output, Tepidizer can make lava (from chlorine for example). The only problem is to stop the steam generated on one end cooling the other end. Experiments continue!

Edit:

Melt anything with this simple CO2 cooled tepidizer!!!

Still toying with valve to see how much liquid CO2/s I need. With tweaked Hydrogen bubbler it shouldn't be a problem really :D

Tepidizer won't get hotter than 80C deep underwater

But it's heat can boil small amount of liquid

Gotta love alphas, lack of tooltips and descriptions. I wonder what other secrets lie beneath. Is it true that algae terrariums are 2x more efficient if you build 15 of them in one bunch or something?

Even it has 5x more efficient it's still useless

And the reasoning for that statement?

They use 33 times less algae then oxidizers, water is a non issue in TU, they consume CO2 and are the only oxygen producing building not caring about Max pressure.

Algae is limited, while pressure is easy to handle

And a large terrariums array will take too many dupes to care about

I don't argue that, but I argue the useless statement. It's not a reliable primary source but it has it's role that fills perfectly - early CO2 scrubber, O2 filler under your base where you don't wanna bother with pipes and hydrogen and such. And I can't stress that Max pressure disregard enough, If you want to get oxygen in CO2 heavy area, electrolyser will just stay idle.

And Algae limited? Since when? There are literally tons of it in rocky biomes + bio destiller.

The Algae terrariums can be a bit more efficient if you drip water on or near them so that the Dupes don't have to make a separate trip for water. At the moment though there is no real need for them as long as you keep the pressure up in your base all of the CO2 should be pushed into a small area and compressed to the point where it is not an issue at least until mid to late game when you have a lot of dupes but by then then you have the CO2 scrubber. Also a good way to get the pressure up is to pump in Polluted Oxygen from the Slime biome as there are no real downsides to this yet.

Mine caps out at 90C when it's FULLY submerged, what am i doing wrong? It's deep underwater :)

It's an exploit of bad code logic.  You need to build it like it was shown.

Algae is unlimited.  Feed polluted oxygen from morbs to pufts.  The polluted water from slime distillation can be utilized to put out even more polluted oxygen, you just need some oxygen as a catalyst.  This will create an positive feedback cycle to create endless algae, limited only the amount of pufts, morbs, and slime distillation buildings.

I'm thinking of an apparatus to make water boil: made of metal, preferably concave so that you can put water in it and blazing coal below, not exactly science-y, though the real challenge would be its name...

You mean a boiler?
