56933043043
The antlion was given a boss theme on the same update it was turned into a boss. You can listen to it here: Fun fact: All of the other boss themes new from DST were in the "music" fsb. This one was in the "together" fsb. The one with all the fumeagator noises. EuedeAdodooedoe
I think it's time for me to put out some of that weight I've gained recently from these new themes... From the themes introduced in DST, Bee Queen's stays my favorite, probably even the favorite among all DS gameplay-related soundtracks. I can't but feel a bit of disgust towards themes that remind me a lot Shipwrecked themes. The queen's theme seems to be the only one that actually captures the core DS themes, everything else sounds very much Shipwrecked-esque. Dragonfly's current new theme is a prime candidate for this and Toadstool's theme is a carbon copy of dry season's boss theme. Like seriously, listen to both themes one after another (toadstool's and dry season's boss theme), they're almost completely identical! Antlion's theme for me lies somewhere in-between though; you can kind of hear the classic DS vibe in it, but also a little of the Shipwrecked. As to why I'm a little salty on Shipwrecked themes and those like them... It's not that I think they're bad by any means. My problem with them is that they're nowhere near as memorable as those from classic DS and RoG; each theme from those two things had their own style, but still retained cohesiveness with the overall game's theme. If I heard any track from those, I could instantly tell you what is for what and humm the whole theme over and over again. It is very easy to remember whether, say, a Spring's theme was for work, fight or boss. And they were all enjoyable in and of themselves in their own right. And I got the same type of vibe for Bee Queen's theme as well! But Shipwrecked themes? I can only praise the Monsoon season's boss theme for its interesting melody and that's it. Aside from that one, I can't recall **** when it comes to identifying what theme is for hurricane season and what is for monsoon season. None of them are cohesive in any way, they are just new themes for another task (work, fight, boss). And the instruments used, give a completely different vibe from the dark and gloomy old-style vibe you get from the vanilla tracks, RoG tracks and the Bee Queen track. HamBatter
On the actual boss fight itself, it's funny how I was thinking of a stationary boss the other day that would wall you in like that and then spawn Tentacles for one of its phases. It's nice how they're making things more dynamic.

Well a lot of that may just be boiled down to the fundamental differences of DS and Shipwrecked, SW being generally more upbeat and focused on tropical themes and tropical beats than the Tim-Burton esque feel of DS music. They may be less iconic and less defined because you haven't really heard much of those types of beats before or associate them with DS. I admit it was a bit jarring hearing tropical drums in the background as Wilson on a weird island the fire time I played but it kinda grew on me. Also the reason you might find this more memorable is probably the tremolo, which can mimic the sound of a bug, playing as soon as the boss fight starts with some well timed percussion. After that it sort of goes off into its own music but that might be the "hook" that you get for the song.
