  1. Can we go one update without complaining about the developers not adding ANR content or Metheus puzzles every small bug fix? Also IIRC Klei left us pretty in the dark after every post-beta major content expansion. RoG wasn't announced right after caves ended and Shipwrecked wasn't announced right after Rog ended. DST sort of just sunk in while we weren't looking. They update in major update cycles, usually in beta updates they give you a clearer plan when they think they know what they want to do. After DS Beta ended they just said "Wait up there'll be more content after this, this is just the beginning!" and after that caves happened. Not too keen on the events after RoG ended but I know we didn't get news of DST or Shipwrecked after for a long time. DST got out of its beta a while ago, originally it just got everything working, then it started to merge RoG content in, and then caves. They were really nice and tried to tell us what they were working on for the future of DST, Through The Ages, but that DLC got remade into ANR, the first major content expansion of DST. We just had a major content expansion, I honestly appreciate that they're ironing out all the bugs post-launch instead of waiting a couple of years to fix them in a giant bug-fix patch. Don't expect an ANR every couple of months, expansions like that take lots of planning and make major changes and cuts daily, not to mention they deserve a break after working on DST straight for like 2 years.
  2. That's literally 25 cents per floppy straw hat. Klei are economic geniuses.
  3. Geeze, they literally expand a skin from 1 item to apply to 3 items and you're acting as if they're holding you at gunpoint to buy hats. It only takes a little bit of time to add a neat little continuity feature where when you use an item's skin to craft something it carries the skin over to that part of the item, which is pretty cool and solidifies a survivalist feeling of throwing items together to create new items, and you're acting like they spent 9 years of development on this. We just came off a giant content update, the equivalent of the caves update to DS, don't expect them to immediately start up on a new expansion pack worth of items. Updating happens in periods, and they're ironing things out and adding neat little features that they can work on now that they feel comfortable with ANR. Again, They literally made 1 skin worth 3 skins. That doesn't even make us buy any new 5 cents cosmetics. How are they making you pay for anything more when it was already in the game.
  4. We had a good run, old easy living log trees. We had a good run. Please don't kill me too hard.
  5. Lucy can possess anything she wants and she chooses an axe... Lucy get your priorities in order we have giant reanimated bones chasing us down and your body does literally the least damage in the game. Choose a sword.
  6. 3 is Shadow Manipulator, 4 is Prestihatitator.
  7. It goes as far as to include human meat and server portals, if this was developed it was started back during the rough development period for the new DST features.
  8. Actually, the mod hasn't been updated for two years. The text contained Atrium lines.
  9. Never mind, got confused with Wortox. Some potential demon character they had for a while.
  10. Do they still develop Wathgrithr? I thought they abandoned him back in beta.
  11. I kind of liked seeing the quotes. It was interesting to see the personality and the relationships come out, and if she is real then it'll still be cool to see what she does around everyone else.
  12. Thinking closer into it, we're starting to see a concrete distinction between The Ancients and the fuel. If the Clockwork pieces were used as the army and there are shadow versions of the clockwork knights, why didn't the Ancients use those? Unless the shadow pieces were tools made by Them and not the ancients, since it drops the shadow atrium, which has to be some tool that the ancients used in necromancy. It seems that steadily the Ancients used fuel only to create technology, and this whole other sort of living shadow thing is a different entity than conventional magic. I hope if there is a lorebomb drop in this it clears up the ancients so to a point where we don't have to guess everything about them because their line is just getting confusing.
  13. To be fair I'm not sure if we were ever told directly that the fossils are skeletons of the ancients. When Maxwell examines the weird horned skeleton he says "I'd be the laughing stalk of the demon making community." Maybe the Shadow Weaver is just a really strong demon the ancients would summon to help them handle making things from fuel, and the ancients really are just the weird bug people we see in all the statues. If they had things like the Shadow Thurible to guide the demon, I think it's entirely plausible they used them like slaves to build the city.
  14. Interesting thing about the ending lines from the Shadow weaver, apparently a *different* shadow took them. We know that "Them," the shadows that control the nightmare throne/maxwell, and the shadows that the throne bearer uses are two different energies. Shot in the dark but maybe "Them," the overall shadows (The people who sold William Carter his magic supplies, the causers of the San Francisco Earthquake, the controllers of the nightmare throne) were about to use the portal to do something, and those are the people the weaver is afraid of. However, after the Shadow Weaver is killed, their energy doesn't go into the portal, some shadow tentacles pull the Shadow Weaver away. My guess is Charlie is the person who took the Shadow Weaver away, to use it for some sort of magic, and left a rose to show us she did it, and that's why the portal didn't fully open. "Fools!" "Who are you?" "Release me, shade!" "You are not Them..." "Are you so easily deceived? Ha..." "You deserve this.", "You've made your choice." We're all just pawns being used by Charlie to do her dirty work in the Atrium, and now the Weaver is a pawn too. Fun tip though, the Atrium is the word for "heart," close to the name of an ancient Greek king, and also the main room of a roman country home. If we ever get into a word puzzle just looks for this based on "Atreu," roman homes or the concept of the heart of Rome.
  15. I think there might be a way to tie in the theory that thulecite was created by some sort of interaction with the bug statues we see now and nightmare fuel, along with a theory about the ancients Also I'm not OK with the weaver being one giant pun. He equates everything to cloth and uses specifically adjectives related to cloth to describe dimensions and the world. Shot in the dark but maybe the fuelweaver is the person/part of a group that built the original portal, going off the theory that the world is like cloth. If a makeshift portal can teleport Wilson into Don't Starve, or summon more players just using wood and some blood, maybe thulecite and heavy duty nightmare fuel makes a portal that can transport large items/people/entire armies across dimensions. Or maybe even make a two way portal (since all of our current portals are one-way). Sounds like a recipe for an interdimensional empire, or a gateway big enough to let in *them* into the Don't Starve world.
