Beefalo enraged while domesticating. Help pls!

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to domesticate a beefalo. He is in a pen with a salt lick (a new one when needed), and I feed him about 3-4 dragonpie a day. His stomach is always good, I prepared a big dragon fruit farm before starting. He even has the chubby face because I fed him more than enough (I wanted that one). But all of a sudden after 15-20 days he has the red mark on the back and he is agressive. What can be the reason for that? Is any way to recover it?

It happened to me some time before and I thought I didn't feed him enough, but this can't be the problem now. So I need to call the beefalo masters to help me a little bit here.

Thanks in advance!

What fimmatek said, if it's Spring, then your beefalo is in heat. In that case, you should stay away from it so it doesn't kill you.

Really, you just have to wait it out. You could wear a Beefalo Hat to help, but it's better to just wait.

Well, if you want a well-fed beefalo (sorry, forgot the proper name) you don't have to ride it anyways, so feeding it is enough, which is easy if you have a beefalo hat. Or if you don't have any, it is still possible to feed it, just a bit more difficult. I know, I had to do it once. But in this case you'll need some dragonpies for yourself too. :D

(I'm not sure if domestication also grows while in heat, but actually why wouldn't it?...)

Thanks a lot for the answers. I ask because the first times I saw that, I thought it would be a seasson thing and I waited. And waited. Aaand waited, and it never fixed itself back xD. I guess just having a salt lick for him during all the heat seasson is ok? Or I don't need that?

I'm like 8 days away from spring

Yes I have a beefalo hat! So you mean I can keep feeding him with the beefalo hat on? That's awesome, I didn't know it changed the beefalo behaviour :D

Ye, it allows you to get close during mating season. Really, that's the only thing I use it for, as I usually rely on the Tam for warmth.

For sure, if you wear one it will be almost the normal, with the exception that it won't follow you once jumped off and you can ride it only for a short time (0,2x of the normal, if I'm right). It lets feed itself, lets be ridden, ect. And if you're in winter, his mating should be really short, just a few days. But after than hurry to domesticate it before spring, because taming a beefalo in spring is a pain. That's why I always start it in summer.

Nice!! Thanks a lot for the answers guys, I thought there was no fix once the beefalo went agressive, too good I was wrong! I was afraid I lost all the work on dragonfruits :D I guess my beef should be almost domesticated so I will have no problem with the beefalo hat!! Yay!
