GuilhermeT
Hi there, I would like to know if like the title says, will Klaus stay in the game after winter's feast? I think that boss is a great addition to the game and I don't want to see he leaves. Sorry if it was already answered before. Thanks Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/72554-will-klaus-stay-in-the-game-after-winters-feast/ Share on other sites
Mudley
Yes, it was already confirmed that he will stay as a boss. Thanks He will, but if it isn't the event I think his color scheme in his horns/chains is more like Krampus' existing one rather than christmassy. EuedeAdodooedoe
I don't know why Klei hasn't tried to implement such a mechanic or perhaps even thought of this, but I think it would be great if the game's celebration features were based on real-time dates. This way, instead of keeping certain celebration themed features in or completely take them out, you would need to either wait till the celebration happens irl (e.g. when it's Halloween, Christmas etc.) or you would need to change the time on your computer for a special event to occur in your hosted server. Such feature was implemented for FNAF games, so I really don't see why this couldn't be done for DST, so Klaus, his special deer and other Christmas stuff could appear if your clock says it's December or something and, say, the loyal halloween skins would appear along with other halloween stuff like the candy bag and candy if you have October set as the month on your computer. Or, perhaps it could be traced from Klei's servers in case we just want these events to happen yearly as a special thing. Speaking of the candy, I really think they should have been different when they were around, like, say if we had something similar being done to this: Instead of getting candy from pig king, because it seems very lazily done and gets in the way of getting that sweet sweet gold if you want to be able to obtain candy in your world at the same time. Second, the "default" setting in world creation for events allows Klei to enable and disable events as they please. So it would be fair to assume they very well might enable the specials next year. With my suggestion he could perhaps be, considering he's very much like a special thing. 2) Would it not be wiser to set up mechanics to do it on its own instead of them going through the trouble and enabling it/disabling it themselves? My friends and I thought he was just a Krampus boss, I still see him that way, not as a "Christmas only" boss. Considering event skins are involved, no, it wouldn't be fair for some players to have their clocks set to October to permanently have possession of otherwise unaccessible skins. This is an online game, remember, the reason why that works in say... as you said Five Nights at Freddy's, is because that game doesn't require an internet connection to play, I've also seen it done in Minecraft back when I still played that game (it also had Halloween updates that the game could be tricked into applying if your clock was set to October) and that's the only thing these events seem to change, aesthetics, other than adding hardly game–changing sweets to add to the mood and a couple of items without much use outside of looking pretty. Anybody could set their clocks to different months at any time, so, how is this unfair? Yes, it's just minor things, so... precisely backs up my point, it's nothing major, the candy wasn't marginally game-changing to begin with and their mechanics, if brought back could be tweaked anyway. It seems like you're trying to disprove my point, even though this is subjectivity to it's highest. Seems very hilariously ridiculous how you're reeeeally trying to push you disliking, even though this is all quite minor in terms of game-play experience and content access. Want Klaus? Change your clock before hosting and bam, you'll get him every winter. And a similar thing to all of the solidly confirmed celebration content. P.S Kinf of off-topic, but I've noticed that when suggesting bosses, a lot of people are just picking existing in-game mobs and making a giant/boss out of them... why? Don't you think it would be hella dull if every single average mob had a boss variant for them? He has a normal form where the horns are altered, and the horns are really the only feature I'd say is making him Christmas-y. He's staying as a boss, this isn't a question of whether or not we need to keep Klaus and how to implement that. I did disprove your point, and I like the events, they're cool. There are already options in the world gen too, you can have the event on of your choosing already, I honestly have no idea what your point is anymore. The fact that Klaus isn't a celebration-specific boss?
