johho
Hello! Can someone tell me whats the diffrence between Singleplayer Dont Starve and DST single Player server? So do I have the "newer" game version with "more" content, if i play single player World on local hosted server with DST, or is it exactly the same experience when starting single player game in DS? Sorry fpr stupid question... Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/71631-whats-the-difference-except-of-multiplayer/ Share on other sites
Developer ImDaMisterL Posted November 12, 2016 Developer Share Posted November 12, 2016 You have all the new content, even in single-player DST, but some enemies and most bosses will be tuned differently and be harder to beat Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/71631-whats-the-difference-except-of-multiplayer/#findComment-836666 Share on other sites
Arlesienne
Welcome to the forums! As ImDaMisterL said, you get more content (sans a few little things like the old bell), the enemies have more health, some characters (Willow, Woodie, Maxwell) are changed, and you have to create Adventure Mode worlds on your own. Oh, and mods will differ. Plus you can now build a giant base and invite your friends afterwards to gloat, err, show it off in a friendly fashion :)! AnonymousKoala
A lot of differences. Honestly the entire list is way too big. It's composed of a lot of "small"(significiant for some, a lot of vetrens included) changes(for the better or for the worse), some new content, some content that's only in singleplayer, and what's been said above. Just, don't go in expecting the two games to be the same. They are incredibly far from it. Basic gameplay is similar, but the similarities end around there. Pretty sure there are mods tuning this if you just want to play alone in DST. johho
So you would prefer to play single player on "original" single player DS or better to host a local single player map in DST? mochilo
same here, I got DST on halloween sales and I love it, the only thing is I play more alone than with my mate (he has a life and I do not :v). I'm still loving it and want to learn moar about the game, but I die a looooooooot. I've been thinking about trying to get the original DS for these times I play alone, or just keep trying to get better at DST. I mean, maybe I'm doing it wrong trying to play alone the multiplayer game. In the other hand, maybe I'm doing it good trying to learn on the "harder" game, as I will "be better" all around after my learning period... too many things to think about. did I already say how AWESOME DST is? damn, it is TOP awesomeness. Rellimarual
They're both great games, and dying a lot comes with the territory in both, but you might find it easier to practice with DS. At least with DS you know that it's possible to do anything in the game on your own. Several of the bosses in DST you can't really beat without help. You defiently can, but it's not ideal/easy without some exprience.
