Bee Queen: Flowering Monarch

Recommended Posts

Hello, with the new update for "A New Reign" beta for Don't Starve Together, piping hot for all of the DST community to enjoy. I've gone to look to the notorious, honey looking, flowering monarch the Bee Queen.

I've gone out to look what this sweet looking monarch can have on its hive of sweet trickery and regret. So to start of the observation for the Bee Queen.

  • First question: Where can you find the Bee Queen

The Bee Queen can be found on an area of Grass Turf, where a couple of beehives and killer beehives together with flowers on the area.

  • Second question: How will you summon the almighty monarch?

After you found its location, you'll see a Gigantic Beehive, there have yourself a hammer. Hammer it, and it will release yourselves sweet goodness just before the angry monarch comes in.

Inevitably, the angry monarch will come out with a disturbed and menacing look. But don't fear, knowledge is power and I'm here to behold you the sweet, golden knowledge.

A very informative post, thank you. I read it after I took her down first, I don't like to be spoiled, but you summed it up really well!

A piece of advice for those who struggle to take down bosses: wait until autumn and pull the bearger on her. She won't attack him until she gets to half HP or so (even though the bearger attacked her several times while trying to hit me, she didn't give a damn for like 5 minutes), then wait for a hound attack.

Be careful not to burn her loot.

I had to hit her only once because she had 22 HP left after a hound attack (300+ days world, 2 players). :D

isnt kinda too much effort to kill this bee queen when u look at the loot which is basically just some food which in terms of survival u could just skip it and eat other things? I think should drop also some stuff which let you craft something with it, eg. a huge stinger to use it as weapon not just some food, or an hive egg like spider queen idk but food and normal stinger isnt quite satisfacting loot table in my opinion.

Jellybeans will heal you over the period of two minutes for, like, 305 HP? So they're an absolute steal for boss fights. ESPECIALLY if tanking. Better yet, they don't seem to spoil. Amazingly OP :p.

The loot is defiently worth it. Besides, it's an optional boss either way and far from the hardest of its type(Dfly's harder and Toad's harder than both. Shadow pieces you can argue about their spot but I'd say they're worse than Dfly or at least queen bee)

Couldn't have summed it up better. I'd rather fight the bee queen than those pesky bees.

And Wigfrid can eat them too. Just imagine this: Wigfrid with marble armor, a couple bat bats and maybe a jar or two of jellybeans. Now THAT is op.

Totally true.

Shhh... don't tell Klei...

Note to self, posted here as a memo: I will not admit to any assumptions in regard to game balance where @JoeW, @nome, @ScottHansen and the other wonderful, wonderful people at Klei can see and issue a hotfix.
