I have some questions though... 1: What are Hallowed Nights and when do they occur? 2: How do you get the special Halloween skins? Do they just come from presents randomly, or is there some special way to obtain them? Also, are they marketable? 3: Do canaries do anything special other than their feathers? 4: How many scarecrow faces are there? 5: What do the weird marble faces do? That's really all i've got. fimmatek Posted October 22, 2016 Share Posted October 22, 2016 As to my bet knowledge, 1: The Hallowed Nights (or Halloween) is the time when you can get special Halloween-themed skins (mainly elegant and distinguished) and there are special trinkets, that can be traded at the pig king for Halloween candies. It already begun, and lasts till 11th of November. 2: They are marketable (just look in the ~40 most expensive skins on the market... ) and I think they drop randomly from presents. (I haven't received any yet, so someone could confirme.) 3: I think not. I heard something that they can be poisioned in the caves, but not sure how it works. 4: At least 9. http://dontstarve.wikia.com/wiki/Friendly_Scarecrow I don't believe that there would be more. 5: What kind of marble faces? It's the name of the whole event. 2: I think they are much like the lunar collection, permanently added to the game, found in gifts randomly. The special costumes will dissappear after the event. 3: Nope, not for now. 4: I've heard about 16. 5: If you mean the rook nose or bishop and knight head, those are to complete the marble statues (you have to mine them a bit first) found on chess set pieces. At fullmoon, the completed statues will come to life as damaged clockworks. And yes, I was talking about the suspicious marble, I couldn't remember what it was called. Rellimarual Posted October 23, 2016 Share Posted October 23, 2016 I don't think they explode, exactly. I had one down in the caves, and when it got sick, I brought it up to the surface. I let it go there and before it flew off, it dropped five feathers in a kind of burst that looked like an explosion, but I don't believe it was. Thanks in advance to anyone that answers the questions. 1. You give special trinkets like faux fangs to His Plumpness. He gives you sweets which as far as I know have no expiration date. This lasts until early November (conflicting data: the 8th or the 11th). SUPPOSEDLY vanilla characters in costumes get more, but yours truly only got a goddamn pleated shirt, so no idea. 2. You have two kinds: A) limited-time free skins. Each character has one in the head slot. They vanish after the event. Not tradable. B) costumes - for the body slot and tophats. Drop during the event, can be traded and sold (at ridiculous prices). 3. They chirp nicely. 4. Lots of. I saw Webber last time. 5. I very specifically said IF, for these items showed alongside the other "temporary" (be it droppable or really gone-forever-after-the-8th) skins. AnonymousKoala Posted October 25, 2016 Share Posted October 25, 2016 Yes, Canaries do do something special. Place one in a birdcage in the caves. When toadstool respawns it gets poisoned. Taking it to the surface cures it. It's actually a clever reference, and I think this is how the popping animation happens, death from the poison.
