Michi01 Posted September 25, 2016 Share Posted September 25, 2016 Okay so earlier today @RyanandLink and I were experimenting on how to cheese the moon event. At first we tried just putting up some hay walls with stars and flingos but that didn't work because the monsters randomly break out of freezing during the event. Just making a stone wall around it though would require using a bunch more stars and we wanted to keep it simple. So I thought of abusing the pathfinding of the creatures which makes them try to walk around walls but not walk around structures. This worked at first but once multiple creatures were standing at the science machines we built in gaps between the walls they started attacking the walls. What ended up being the solution was combining the two strategies, making them gather in one place for freezing as shown in this video recorded by Ryan: Also, as you can see in the video you can actually push them were you want if you keep them frozen so thats a neat thing for base decoration. This might not be worth it if you have a group of players but if you're playing alone or don't want everyone to have to go there everytime you want a staff this should be worth setting up. You also get to harvest more moonrock then after killing most monsters. DarkXero Posted September 25, 2016 Share Posted September 25, 2016 With a well placed tent, the monsters won't attack the walls. Try out that. Other way is making a corridor so large (like two screens large) that monsters run to the entrance to enter, but get asleep in the process. Basically, find a quarry and mine it in near totality and make stone walls 3 or 4 walls deep and then hide inside and wait it out (with stones to repair walls as they get damaged). But yes, so far wicker and maxwell are the only ones capable of soloing the event. (MAYBE wolfgang can do it; im a little iffy on that).
