Hi there,

I'm looking for games which will remind me Don't Starve. May be anyone know something?

I mean something NEW in Survival/ARPG with crafting.

Searching Steam constantly but can't find something intersting.

Thank you in advance.

Well i know nothing similar to Dont Starve except for the dark atmosphere but the game is different to Dont Starve. Its a Turn based roleplay game with random Dungeons , people getting Insane etc...~ all in a dark setting. But like Dont Starve it has a Unique Artstyle that makes it interesting. Cant say if u like it or its something that u want but check it out it calls "Darkest Dungeon".

Sry when i cant help u more . _. .

Greetings

Hmmmm... Maybe "The Flame in the flood"? It was released on february 24h of this year. I didn't play it yet, but it seems interesting.

It is a craft-to-survive roguelike game, sandbox kind, just like Don't Starve. Darker feeling too... maybe due to the art style.

Anyway, check it out :)

Not like don't starve in terms of graphics and characters -a far more realistic feels, but I have recently started playing The Long Dark by Hinterland.  Its in Alpha testing and is survival at its most brutal, your plane crashes in a geomagnetic storm in Canada in the midst of a hostile winter, everyone is dead - you have no map, a vast wilderness to explore, connecting maps - hostile wildlife, its an immediate battle to survive, scavenge what you can... and plan for long term by crafting clothing and weapons.  Its a bitter game, lots of dying - superb graphics, very challenging - a really responsive Dev team and an exciting roadmap to look forward to - plenty to get your teeth into if you like survivalist games.  It gets full marks from me.

Ohh I've just taken a peek - I like the look of this!

Thats why I like Don't starve, is quite unique, you want similar games? I could say "The forest" or "Sir you are being hunted" but still very different, when you say games that makes me feel the same as Don't starve I could say Darksouls, steamworld dig and Darkest dungeon, however these games are even a diferent kind of game, I like them as much as don't starve because the adventure sensation, the surprises always waiting behind you, the price of the mistakes and the solid gameplay mechanics without fancy tutorials that treat me like someone who never played a videogame before

I can't think of any... I remember 2 years ago I was looking for cheaper games that were like don't starve...I found none

but try unturned it's really fun with zombies, base building, survival, and guns. it's really cool once you get a good loadout.( you find it in the game world) I could go on...

Urgh, difficult isn't the word when it comes to TLD - seriously hard core.  It has three modes - pilgrim (cake walk) voyager - harsher reactions to the environment and animals that don't run from you (instead they want to eat you) and Stalker - Stalker is roughly translated as OMG im never going to play that - so many more predators!  Ive played a bit on pilgrim to get the lay of the land but generally find that too soft for anything other than familiarisation, voyager is the one for me and even this is so much of a challenge that I still have not made it past day 19 on a play through!!

I played my second night of TFITF today - night one I got to day 7, tonight I got as far as day 11.  The game mechanics are great, but I need to invest in a game controller for my pc (for both games benifit), its doable without, but I find it a bit awkward sometimes.

I love the graphics on both games - both very different but both are great and atmospheric - the music on TFITF is great.  They are like DS in that you can be sat there thinking to yourself - how well stocked and prepared you are then wham - you are dead!  The only thing I would say is that on my computer DS and TLD play fine, TFITF was initially very laggy -going into options and changing the cursor from their default to standard and taking shadows setting from epic to medium - fixed it for me.

Anyhow... I have a few hours with both now - proper thumbs up and the great thing is that I love DSROG and it takes a lot for a game to slap me in the face and not just grab but hold my attention. TLD, and TFITF are also great survivalist games, each one has its own selling point which could turn out to be naff and gimicky but actually is the making of the game and both are very tough and incredibly enjoyable.

Ohhhh that seems like a game for me. To quote Yahtzee "I also like banging my head against a wall with a scary face drawn on it.... The thing is I DON'T play video games to stop banging my head, I play them to keep smashing feeling the wall break a bit more each time!"

lol - then you will love it!  I would also say that in TLD there is quite a bit of LMB mashing, I normally play games where I use a keyboard and mouse, and can quite easily play TLD with this set up but was literally frightened I would break my mouse! :o TFITF however, I find the mechanics don't work so well when using a keyboard and mouse. So I invested in a game controller for my pc,  it makes TFITF much easier and I suspect it will polish the experience and fighting mechanics for TLD too although I have not tried that with a game controller yet.  So if you are like me and play on a pc - get a controller if you dont already have one

Goliath Well, it's open world, survival 3D ARPG with robots. Really fun for me. Got 3 hours played in game atm. Noticed some bugs already but in general it's seems a nice game.

oh cool I've heard good things about that game

There's really no game that is similar enough in every way. Many other Klei games (Not Invisible Inc. iirc) sort of have the same art style (Not completely, but I can tell whether it's a Klei game or not by the sprites), but that's all in terms of similarities.

chkn it's and sandbox game where you can build your own creatures and you have hunger and hp and you can create and build stuff just like in Ds
