It was Them. They know Charlie has refined tastes and would only listen to classical music. Or operas.

:)

Or the gramophone is faulty and starts playing on its own. I think it would be too mundane though. This is my theory anyway. Don't feel under pressure to accept it.

I think Charlie let the record run out. While we were working on the Cyclum puzzle, there was a point at which Ragtime started playing, while Wilson and Maxwell were already in the world and interacting. At the next stage of the puzzle, the music stopped, sounding the way records sound when you reach the end and let the needle stay down.

While I do agree with almost everything you said, mind explaining why we didn't hear it or see it still spinning around? I don't know much about gramophones so do they stop spinning after playing nothing for a bit?

That I'm not sure about. I'd always heard that you shouldn't let a record run out because it might damage the needle, so I always get the needle up right away and don't let it spin. I would assume it would stop eventually? Someone with more info than me might be able to address that better.

But the sound part of the puzzle with the morse code definitely sounded like a record that's run out, so that's what I assumed. ( I think the Cyclum puzzle thread has the sound file buried in there somewhere, if you want to listen.)

But then, there was another track where the gramaphone ran out and became morse code(it was one of the William Carter Puzzles)

However, the gramaphone remains on whenever u see Maxxy in adventure mode

Oh and Maxwell mentions that the gramaphone has been playing for an eternity(a very long time),however Wilson has been on the throne for a significantly shorter amount of time,so I don't think it just ran out like that.

Oh god this might signify a storyline for SW!

SW? What is that dlc that totally won't suck if it was a thing, and would come out full of actually good content?
