EighteenXVIII
So I think there are 4 main foods that you should probably be farming in this game, each with their own pro's and cons. These are Meatballs, Bacon and Eggs, Dragonpie and Honey Ham. There's also Turkey Dinner but it's not as readily available. Meatballs: mostly made with 3 Berries/Mushrooms/Ice and 1 Morsels/Drum Sticks/Frog Legs/Fish/Monster Jerky. It's a great early game food considering it's not difficult to setup a Berry Bush farm and there are multiple ways to collect meat. As little as 15 Berry Bushes and 5 Traps to collect Rabbits/Frogs will keep you sustained in every season except for Winter. Other good ways to farm meat include placing a Spider Den next to Rock Lobsters that are chasing a walled-in mineral, fishing, killing Merms, making a Pig Village and commanding a Pig to attack the others starting a chain reaction, slaying a Beefalo and farming Gobblers by placing Tooth Traps all around your Berry Bush farm. In short, it's the easiest good recipe to make and great to start with, but will be replaced by better and more optimal foods later on. Bacon and Eggs: The more adventurous and risky players can opt for this recipe instead early game. It will require a way to collect large amounts of meat, a Bird Cage and a bird. You'll need to collect 6 Gold, 8 Reeds, and 4 Silk before you can farm eggs, with Twigs and Seeds being easily available. This means you'll need to find a Swamp and Rocky biome fairly quick, but the resources are there for the taking once you do (but take care in the Swamp). You can use Traps to farm Spiders which are often located near the swamp, getting Silk for your Bird Trap and Fishing Rods, and Monster Meat. Between this Monster Meat (which you can use up to 3 in one recipe by turning two into Eggs) and fishing, killing Merms and possibly trapping Frogs/Rabbits you can sustain yourself pretty well. This recipe will heal you constantly and is available throughout all seasons, plus Bacon and Eggs last a very long time. Dragonpie: Quite probably the best food source, although with the highest initial investment. Like with Bacon and Eggs it will require a Bird Cage + a bird, which can be a motivation to go the Bacon and Eggs route first as you'll have that part out of the way already. Then you'll require large amounts of Grass, Manure and Rocks to setup multiple Improved Farms. Up to 20 farms may be required to make enough Dragonfruits, as you'll need to feed most of them back to your bird to get Seeds. You'll need just enough Seeds to replant them on all your farms, all excess farmed Dragonfruits can be made into pie. This only requires a single Dragonfruit and 3 Twigs, making this recipe very economical. On top of that, Dragon Pie refills a lot of hunger and health and is the only of the high end foods that won't anger Bunnymen which can be beneficial in Caves. The only downside is that it's a rare fruit and may take a while to obtain if you're unlucky. Honey Ham: Requires the starting season to be Autumn in ROG, as in Spring all Bees will be Killer Bees. You'll need to obtain 6 Silk first which can be slightly challenging in the first days. This is enough for 3 Bug Nets or 30 captures. You'll capture 12 Bees for 3 Bee Boxes, and 18 Butterflies to plant near them. This will provide you with plenty of Honey, which you can store in your Ice Box for virtually forever. This is useful for stocking up a food supply for the winter days. For meat you can slay 2 Beefalo's, providing you with 8 Meat which will last you a good time. The last slot should be reserved for Monster Jerky, easily obtained from Spiders and Hounds. It's quite an economical recipe, as the Honey is free, it gives purpose to Monster meat leaving Meat as the only thing to farm (which can also be done with a large Pig Village as stated above). It's mostly a recipe for later on in the game and best combined with farming Dragon Pie as they will grow in the background while you need to go out to hunt for Meat. Hope some of you find this useful and maybe you can tell us how you take care of your hunger bar. That's all, thanks for reading Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/66327-lets-talk-food/ Share on other sites
TalZahn
Small note: You CAN catch bees in Spring for the Bee Box. As long as you catch a bee that's pollenating flower, it'll count as a normal bee, even if they LOOK like a killer bee. It's the ones that come out of the hive after that you don't want to bother with. deadgag
I don't know if it was nerfed yet, but the ultimate recipe is 1 Meat + 3 Ice = Meatballs. gg ez Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/66327-lets-talk-food/#findComment-749879 Share on other sites

I've notice Killer Bees vibrate but you'll only notice this if they're homeless...Also homeless bees(not killer) make new flowers, and this also means they can make new evil flowers! Even tho it's really easy to kite nightmares and get nightmare fuel.
