Hutch's Transformations (images included!)

So I did some fiddling and figured out Hutch's (the new cave "Chester") transformations :3

Putting a spear/battle spear plus a light bulb *light bulbs make his head bulb light up, by the way* will turn him into Fugu Hutch! It gives him a thorn effect so that when things hit him, he does damage to them until the durability of the weapon is used up.

The other one is Music Box Hutch. Put a One Man Band and  light bulb into him and he plays music and gives off a sanity aura until the one man band durability is used up

I think it's adorable and his light bulb function is really useful ^.^

 

Singleplayer Hutch when??? It seems like it's perks were especifically made for cave exploring. The bulb makes Hutch much easier to find and illuminate your base, the fugu form sounds great for distracting and killing batilisk/spiders and the music form helps counter the caves sanity drain. I would totally take it over chester for caves in singleplayer

I know you can bring chester to caves in singleplayer but Hutch would be overall more useful/fun thanks to his light + easy transformations. Would be cool if we had at least an option to enable Hutch.

Yeah cause a walking ice box is just less useless in the caves where you are far away from your base and such.

I never said Chester was useless, i said Hutch would be good to use too. It's forms can be changed on spot to meet you needs, if it dies you don't have to wait until the next full moon, so i'd say it's Hutch would be a , i dunno, "safer sidegrade" option for ruins?

Either way, it doesn't matter i guess. Let Hutch be DST exclusive then.

If they added Hutch to singleplayer, they would have to stop chester from being able to enter the caves (for balance), which would definitely cause more people to be annoyed at that change than those who would like it.

That's why i said "the choice to enable Hutch". If an official change would annoy so many people, then i'll just wait until Hutch becomes an optional mod.

Maybe instead of not making Chester go to caves, why not making that either Hutch or Chester fallow you, but not both?
