WX-78 overload without Wickerbottom

Recommended Posts

My friend currently plays WX-78 on our dedicated server. We had a Wickerbottom who overloaded my friend with The End is Nigh. I know that with a telelocator staff a WX-78 can overload themselves. My friend tried this twice, but it didn't work both times. They used it far away from any lightning rods and didn't use any rain protection clothing. Was this mechanic changed in DST? Is there any way (besides random lightning during thunderstorms) a WX-78 in DST can overcharge themselves at will without a Wickerbottom?

My friend used the telelocator on themselves, and while lightning did strike them, it didn't trigger the system overload.

Don't use it on himself. Try using it on a rabbit or something. Also wickerbottom's end is nigh is better because there's a bug that can keep you overcharged for several seasons in a row if you spam end is nigh.

This "bug" is intentional. The only thing possibly not intentional is that the sanity cost voids after the fifth strike or so.

Really? Why couldn't I get it past a few days when I used several telelocator staffs?

I can confirm it works if you're not using it on yourself, but on something else in the area! Thank you.
