I like playing DS and DST with friends but sometimes it annoys me how they set up a base compared to how I do it (not OCD!... or maybe I am, who cares?).

Here's a simple example done in paint:

And here's more: http://sta.sh/2fqtkzsk5b4?edit=1 (10+ pictures cos I die too much -_- and maybe I just want to prove a point)

Some items vary such as ice boxes, farms, bird cages, tents, etc because I don't usually get them everytime.

Anyone else have a preferable layout for their camp/base?

I like to have the firepits on one side, with everything burnable on the other.  Here is the first base I did with that model.  It cuts down on flingos, and tends to be nicely organized.

Are those alternate wooden floors a mod? I don't play DST much so I don't know

The Turfed! mod.  I love it.  It adds tons of craftable floors, and you can edit the benefits of flooring (insulation, rain protection, sanity, speed.)  It's on the steam workshop.

My base usually involves a firepit (and endothermic), with my chest above, crockpot + iceboxes below, and crafting stations to the right. I have my little base surrounded by walls and traps. Then a place with all my plant (bushes, grass, tress, etc.) close by, but not to close, in case of treeguards.

I usually make my actual base small, but my grass, twig, honey, berries etc farms huge. They are all the size of a flinngomatic range, and are seperated in patches. I use cobblestone road and outline them and then my actual base is just crockpots and chests and the other essentials.

It's nice to find another fellow minimalist :D
