The dragon freezes as a crab scuttles into view. Then, when it's just in the right position, she thrusts her head down and snaps up the little snack. The crushed crab is soon followed down the dragon's throat by a few small rocks to help with digestion.

Mark's feet were starting to itch a bit. Ugh... he almost forgot... that.

"Uhm... maybe we could... try and hop on those?" He pointed to some sort of stepping stones interconnecting the islands (thx Battal).

"They seem close enough for us to jump on and get over there."

(Maybe people just want you to overcome JoeW's likes? *shrugs*)

Mark started doing the same, following Viridis close behind.

He tried his best not to look down at all that water.

And the itch on his feet was starting to get kind of annoying.

"And I'm guessing since you're telling us that means you want us to come with you." Kade observered. "Sorry, but I have to stay here with Kate. She's been meaning to catch some fish for a while, and I have to look out for her." Kate seemed a little annoyed by the remark, like she was trying to give off the impression that she thought she could look out for herself, but she didn't protest. Kade didn't seem to notice her annoyance. "We'll probably come after she's caught a couple though."

Wheke wasn't entirely sure what to say. S/he was flattered but had no clue how these hairless Primeapes went about their courtship.

Gilda glanced back at the sea monster. Fresh water eh? That was good to know, a source of water she could enjoy without suffocating.

"And, here... we are! One last jump..." the last jump was much farther away from the island than the previous ones, but it was still close enough to jump to it. Viridis jumped onto the island. "Alright. Can you make... the leap?" she asked Mark.

"I... I think I can, yeah." Quite frankly, Mark wasn't very sure if he could, not being very athletic... but maybe his aquaphobia would fuel his jump a bit? Something about fear and adrenaline and such.

He only hoped that would work, and then jumped to the island...

... He landed safely!

Oh wait, no. He didn't.

He landed right on the edge of the island, and started to fall back down.

"Ooh! Ooh!" He flailed his arms around, trying to grab onto something that'd stop his fall. "A little help here?" He tried to hold onto Viridis.

Viridis quickly grabbed Mark in a hugging fasion, since she thought she didn't have enough time to turn around and use her tail to grab his arm. She leaned backwards, slowly pulling him back up. Just as she succeeded, her thin legs slipped off the edge of the island causing the both of them to fall in the water. She let go of Mark, and tried to do swim just as she did with Meritursas. It only slightly worked, delaying her rapid sinking.

A look of disappointment crossed Wiffleball's face. So he'd have to go alone, then. He turned and looked out at Mark and Viridis, jumping from stone to stone in the distance. There were smaller stones like that near his rock, too, but he doubted how well he could endure hopping all the way to the mainland. He wasn't exactly in peak physical or mental condition, after all. Still, it wasn't like he had many other options...

Lining himself up with the smaller stones, Wiffleball prepared himself to make the jump. He took a few steps back, then ran forwards and sprang into the air with as much power as he could!

...And only barely caught onto the rock. He scrambled to get a stable foothold, marveling at the difficulty of such a mundane task. Once he had reached the top, he lay, exhausted, with his face against the cold stone.

Clearly, this was going to take a while.

Kate felt a little guilty at how disappointing Wiffleball looked, but she would catch up with him soon. Catching a few fish for apology offerings shouldn't take that long.

Almost as if on cue, she felt a tug on her line and reeled in a colorful fish like the first one she had caught. She grinned. Now she would give it to Merturisas, but she couldn't see him anywhere along her shore. Oh well, that just meant she could catch a couple more to give to him all at once. She cast the line again.

Gilda sunk into the water, so good so far. She'd missed swimming.

"But why would you do that? Do you not want to persue those affections?" Wheke wondered what gender Trevor acctually was. The hiding in his coat could have been a feminine thing, defence for the eggs? Did they even lay eggs?

Viridis had reached the floor of the water they were in. She attempted to swim up again, but to no avail. Seeing Meritursas stuck in trying to save them, Viridis hoped that he might ask the others for help. All she could do now is try to hold her breath. It was hard, since she had never tried to do it intensively before.
