For one thing Noctimus' arms are too short and stubby for him to climb up. She tried to put it out with her hands in a panic, and then water. Water and steam everywhere. The blast knocked her back, and she stopped producing heat. She went into a coughing fit as her body tried to force out the water that had invaded her lungs. Wh-what had she done? She had been angry. Sh-she didn't mean to hurt them but she did. That's what she had done. Kate looked over and saw her friends at the railing. She started to get up to go over to them, but froze. After a long moment, she sat back down and curled up, hiding her face in her arms and knees.
