Is Hunger bugged/harder?

Recommended Posts

My boyfriend and I have been playing recently and our hunger just seems unmanageable. As Winfred, I can't keep up with the demands of meat I need anymore - sometimes I go from 3/4ths to empty in a day, and unless I want Krampus spawning every few days, I'm kind of stuck. My boyfriend plays Wilson and he noticed it, too. Anyone else having issues with hunger since the new update?

Do you use crock pots?  Honey ham is one of my favorite meals; either 2 large meats, a berry, and a honey, or 1 large meat, 2 morsels, and 1 honey.  Restores a lot of hp and hunger.  Also, eggs and bacon, great healing food, 1 large meat, 2 eggs, 1 morsel, or 2 meats, 1 tallbird egg, 1 twig.  Meatballs is super cheap, 1 morsel, 3 filler, but doesn't restore as much hunger or anywhere near as much hp as either of those meals.

I've never ran into any starvation problems as Wigfrid before; she's easy to feed.  Worst case senario; whack some spiders and eat that meat raw.  Monster meat can be used as a large meat in most meals, the only one that NEEDS meat is meaty stew, 1 meat, 1 monster meat, 2 morsels.  Spiders don't attract Krampus, so you can kill as many as you like.  Stale cooked monster meat can be fed to a bird for eggs, which can be made into great meals.

Actually, that's pretty much normal for Wigfrid.  She only has 120 hunger so 3/4 full is barely more than what she loses in a day.

Try using more monster meat.  Spiders are an easy source.

Edit: if you don't have time or ingredients for cooking in a crock pot I would recommend at least cooking the monster meat.  -3 health is better than -20.

I don't play Wigfrid much, but I assume that from what I've seen, you pretty much have to rush crock pot or eat lots of spiders. Maybe you could try and work together to get an early Koalephant or some beefalo?

And... what exactly is that supposed to accomplish, again?
The painfull cycle of life.

I can't express just how much hatred I have for sleeping and how those damnedable stomach faeries siphon out all the food you've eaten that day while you take a power nap.

Whoever thought of that mechanic should've been slapped.

You'd rather go insane, sometimes.

Speaking of insane, why the hell does inflating a balloon animal drain sanity?

Who suggests these things? Honestly, balloon animals should restore sanity if nothing else.

These balloon animals deal a lot of damage to your enemies when used correctly, so the sanity cost was implemented to balance that.

That's the equivalent of punching something, right?

Not even close, you'd need two baloons for that. A walking cane hits for over three baloons. A tentacle spike for ten.

MRL is wrong, they're useless. Ask pros like Flare for exact experiences though, since I can only draw my knowledge from the source code, since I am too bad for adventure mode.

Back to the topic of this thread...

If you are having trouble feeding yourself as wigfrid, there are two things you can do. One is to use crock pots if you aren't already - make meatballs if low on meat ingredients (use 1 morsel or monster meat and 3 berries or mushrooms), bacon/eggs and honey ham if you have more. Meaty stews are wasted on Wigfrid, they restore 150 hunger and she only has 120 max.

The other thing you can do is to get more meat. The best source is the mighty koalafant; you get 8 meat and a trunk (which heals a good amount when cooked) for about a day's work, less if you have a ranged weapon like a boomerang to get it to attack you. You can also fish and kill frogs, or kill the dumb moles to get easy morsels and small meat. Alternatively, farm a ton of spiders and hounds for a ton of monster meat, plus other useful resources, and either use the monster meat for meatballs, or feed some of it to pigs so that they turn into werepigs and kill them for pig skin and 2 full meat.
