Sea Hound is an awful.

Recommended Posts

Small nitpick, I know they are the water equivalent to hounds, but change the name please. They are like a mix of Piranhas and sharks, so maybe play with that. Sharanhas? Or maybe just call them Piranha Sharks...Anything, literally anything else, Sea Hounds is the most boring name you could have given them, especially because they don´t actually resemble hounds at all...

Let's call 'em Pirahnas.

Simple. Short. Exactly what they are. Just Pirahnas. Not Hounds.

Or Sharahnas.

That's good too.

Or we could replace Sea Hounds with my aforementioned Sealions.

Seal + Lion/Sea + Lion = Clever punny name that fits perfectly within the Don't Starve universe.

That´s why sharks come to mind.

Even though Sharks are pretty cliched, it does kind of work.

But still...I'd rather a whole new type of creature. Not sharks or pirahnas. Let's have some creativity. Going by the idea of Tigershark (Apparently) and Dogfish, we could again, have Sealions. It's still a marine animal + land animal.

Or, we could just never have a replacement to Sea Hounds... x_x

Their color can be described as Maroon, Cardinal, maybe even a Crimson.

It's main physical attributes are its wide jagged mouth, its round white eyes with slitted pupils, and its large dorsal fin.

It's vicious, it's malicious, it's hungry, it's angry,

It's name in debug is called "sharx"

Maybe call them Marooners, like Maroon+Crimson, which also sounds like the act of marooning someone.

A Fender is a pad used to protect a ship from damage, but kinda sounds like Offender, like a criminal. Sounds like "fend off" and brings about thoughts of "fender-benders"

Capsize is a good word, and it's also kind of related to "Cap Size", noting the large dorsal fin.

"Capsizers" would be interesting, because they cause capsizion in game, and it sounds like "Incisors", sharp front teeth, and comes from the latin "to cut".

I best they had the same problem we're having.

Let's call 'em Pirahnas.

Except that sea lions already exist and look nothing like piranhas or sharks.  : /

I like the debug name, Sharx. Why not Sharx? Why overcomplicate it? That's what they look like before they bite your boat.

Same. I honestly thought they were just 'sharks' when I started playing. I quite like them though, as annoying as they are the bright pink and big dorsal and little yappy dog barks...they're much cuter than the hounds ever were. xD

Except I realize that as well. And I was going for that pun.

It wasn't very punny.  It doesn't look like a seal, or a lion, or a sea lion.

I can call a snake a rabbit, and I guess that'd be tongue in cheek funny for a moment, but beyond that....

I meant that replace Sea Hounds. Of course they don't look like a seal. Or a lion.

Was just thinking of an entirely new thing.

I like there look.

"Their" look seems rather unfinished...like it was a quick and dirty skin just to get something out. I am really hoping the sea hounds are just an interim solution, and that they will implement something more interesting with a better skin by the time the game is released. Sharkhounds or something, with an appropriately menacing skin. Or maybe Obsidian Devils...ooh, that could be quite menacing.
