When karma slaps you in the face with a sledgehammer...

Recommended Posts

So, recently I've been complaining that I didn't see enough giants appearing, and how I only got spammed with mgooses. Today, karma had enough of my b*tching. Nuff said.

I honestly didn't expect to see that many giants on one screen without help of console commands. I'm playing on ps vita, so no cheating happened before this meeting.

I didn't know you could run into stuff like this, I thought one measly Deerclops on my first winter was bad enough! Out of my many deaths, I would be proud dying this way rather than not having any sticks for a damn torch.

So many questions... like can you get them to aggro on each other at least?

I've read Don't Starve is pretty laggy on the Vita. It looks like you've got a lot going on there how's the performance?

My friend wants to sell me his vita on the cheap and I'm seriously considering it because of this one game... help me lol. This game seems perfect for handheld.

Well, from what I saw on youtube videos they can actually fight each other. However, they didn't feel like doing so. I had a mad deerclops and bearger on my behind, and I guess dragonfly was happily burning down my base. I can't say for sure, though, as I didn't make it back to base...

Looking back, I might have stood a chance, by just actively trying to make them aggro each other, and then using the old bell. However, I panicked, and well, I ran around like a headless chicken. Not soon afterwards I was as dead as a headless chicken.

As for the performance on ps vita, there is a lot of slow down. Especially with big groups of mobs (spiders during dawn, killerbees from multiple killerbee hives or pengulls) and during full moon the game goes in a sort of slow motion. The framerate is more or less steady, but the game slows down quite a lot. Saving and quitting and then reentering is an option, and the game will mostly run at normal speed again.

Also, crashes do happen ocassionally. I must've encountered them about ten times now.

Then again, I do play it a lot, and the slowdown doesn't always bother me. But low framerates in other games don't always bother me either. The controls are great though, and it's nice to play whereever I want.

I don't know if I can recommend getting the ps vita for don't starve alone. I guess it depends on the really depends on the price.

So... did you survive?

In his reply to me he said he didn't make it back to his base... Poor guy, died a good death lol!

Also thanks for the reply wolfbrother117!

Maybe they don't actively aggro on each other but the Bearger and Dragonfly's AoE attacks can get them to I bet.

I think I'm gonna pass on the Vita. Not enough good games to justify. (That's one sexy device though!)

Hope this comes to 3DS but I won't hold my breath.
