TheKingofSquirrels
1x Dug up Berry Bush + 1x Tooth Trap = Ultimate player trap. It looks like a normal bush, but when a player pulls out some berries "BAM!" there was a hidden tooth trap under it. You can harvest the berries safely by digging up the bush again with a shovel. Good way (and only way I can think) of keeping your bush farms safe from thieves. Some problems:They can pick the berries without triggering it, as you cannot place toothtraps "that" close to bushesThey can rotate camera to checkThey could lure other stuff over to set them offThey can survive more than 1 hit. KalebSearle
I think he means a new item suggestion, when players use the "Walk To Berry Bush" action and attempt to collect Berries, they get damaged by a Tooth Trap hidden underneath the bush itself, for a player might be at low health and hunger so he needs food. This could also work for those pesky Berry thieving Gobblers... Another idea, being able to upgrade them with either gears, or teeth of thy hound beast, to induce more damage and a little bit of sanity loss due to shock? Thieverpedia
Are you referring to a crafting recipe? If so, I think that digging it up should also trigger it. Can't stand thieves, personally. Maybe have an upgraded trap that does 4x damage to armor? I'm guessing some would be smart and use armor to avoid it. But would the resources to make that armor be less important than berries? Auth
That'd be too OP for people. Just put walls around them and tooth traps. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/43327-bush-trap/#findComment-562006 Share on other sites

Oh god dammit, I´m so sick and tired of people going "Oh that´s too OP". It´s Don´t Starve, the more hardcore the better. imsomony
The idea of this seems fun, but it seems like it's only useful in PvP... sure, it could be used with Gobblers, but we can already drop regular tooth traps next to the bushes to get them. I'm not totally opposed to the idea, more on-the-fence with its usefulness in the long-term and with other forms of gameplay. Can you think of a way it can be used or expanded upon in a non-PvP environment?
