How to survive a LONG SUMMER. with only a shade and a fire

Recommended Posts

I've put a ton of hours into Don't Starve and RoG and I have never seen that many mandrakes. I use the default settings and usually find two- maybe three fairly close together. I don't use any mods either. They don't grow back either.

lucky you, out of my last three worlds, zero of them have had mandrakes. It's just depressing.

Look for all you people who want an easy RoG experience but not be like a king and everyone must lick the tallbird in the concer do this

Smoking withered berry bush=none

Frog rain=none

There it's balanced and u don't implode within the first 5 secs of summer :)

im not actually fond of easy game, i want a challenging game like thinking strategies, improvising on what i have to survive something unexpected.. but other players do like it easy though... everyone has theyre own perspective..

So the walking annoying radishes/mandrakes are not op/ fair game? But they refill ur health and hunger like zadastu

They are OP because they are meant to be OP. The thing is: They are so extremely rare that you can't use them for certain tactics. The only useful thing you can do with mandrakes (in a default world) is to craft pan flutes.

All other uses are limited to 2-5 per world which makes the mandrake(soup) unimportant. It's rather a situational thing in maybe the adventure mode than a must have item.

sorry lacost meant for naimo to read this :)

If I magically had 40 mandrakes (holy hell), I certainly would never use them to skip summer days. I'd make 10 Pan Flutes, and 30 Mandrake Soup. Then I could facetank the Dragonfly while healing with the soup.

I think that the original poster meant well,  and perhaps didn't even realize that their game was modded or altered in some other way to make it so far from the default settings that most other people play with.  The problem is, we also don't know what other resources are wonky in their game, if mandrake are so plentiful then maybe other things are vastly different as well.

As it stands now, this "guide" is simply broken.
