DwerBomb Posted October 1, 2014 Share Posted October 1, 2014 Pvp tournament means that you have to fight players and by that you don't really have time to build a spider army.I would go with Wigfrid if RoG is available.If not, Wilson would be my choice, as Wolfgang's difficult hunger menagement could be a problem in a prolonged pvp. Though I think it will come down to creativity to kill someone since everyone runs at the same speed. Wigfrid not being able to eat berries or carrots could be problematic. May have low health, but he still starts with the strongest melee weapon in the game, as well as armor that pretty much negates his health penalty until it breaks. Plus Codex Umbra for distractions. Oh yes. My pretties. My beloved jumping marauders. Hell, I'd pick webber no matter what if Caves are in. Down there, he's OP just as Mega-Charged-WX-78. But, if I'm going in blind and with no guaranteed situational advantages, Wendy is a no brainer. You get Abigail from the start and she is disposable, stubborn, has a humongous amount of health and deals all the melee damage Wendy doesn't need to inflict, since range seems the only way to pvp anyway; other than that, the sanity drain is compensated by Wendy's natural resistance to regular sanity loss. Richie84 Posted October 2, 2014 Share Posted October 2, 2014 I'd definitely Wigfrid. Battle helmet and battle spear at the start, is the hardest hitting character, and can take a hit better. However, she won't be available for DST at first. Therefore, I'd probably go with Wickerbottom. I'd be able to make blow darts right off the bat while you guys are still looking for gold for your first science machine. Realistically, ranged weapons are the only way you can win PVP in DST because it's too easy to run from melee attacks as the devs have said in the livechats and their PAX video. (Don't remember which one(s) it was.) Another alternative would be Woodie, chase you down with Lucy while you're hunting down your first piece of flint. However, werebeaver would be nice as Quady14 suggests.
