Silas abruptly looked up from his book, his senses suddenly tingling from. . .something; more specifically, it felt like something has caught the attention of his subconcsious.

". . .odd."

Silas looked back to his book, vaguely thinking that his standing up and walking to a secluded area was not an action entirely his own.

(That was totally intentional.

Also, luck decided that you wouldn't die to a creature due to yelling at the wrong thing.)

Silas perked up at the sound of a familiar voice, dulled by the ambiance of the plains, and yelled back, walking towards the source as he did so.

"If you're going to leave while I fetch a morsel, yell!"

A small twig flies at Dorian, flying over his shoulder. Silas emerged from the trees quickly afterwards. holding several other twigs.

"Then why are you yelling."

He spoke in a calm, sardonic tone, one would take when chastising someone.

Shana suddenly spoke up in a tone that wasn't as soft as it normally was. One might even say it had a bit of a harsh edge. The way she held herself was a bit different too. She stood up straighter, like she had more confidence.

"Apologies for making you look for us. We saw an explosion and went to investigate thinking you might be hurt. The source of the explosion was not found, but we did find this."

She manipulated the shadow appendage to move the leaf in Silas' line of sight.

(Don't you dare go psycho on Silas. You'll ruin the good endings.)

". . .an explosion?"

Silas stamped his feet in frustration.

"Dammnit! Why does all the appealing stuff always happen when- I say, what's this?"

He stopped his tirade when he saw the shimmer of the leaf, and his disappointment turned into curiosity. Without Shana's consent, he slipped the leaf through the shadow tendrils and began examining it, rotating, turning the sides, and occasionaly hitting it against a nearby tree in one hand while rifling through the pages of his book with the other, looking for an image of it.

"If this is handmade it's a master product of craftsmanship. Possibly metal shell, or perhaps it's plating and has something less valueable inside. Nice curvature, polished finish, and it even has runes on it! Unknown runes are simply delightful!"

He stops on a page of his book, though it wasn't a picture of the leaf. It was picture of Zodiac signs.

". . .huh. Capricorn symbol."

"I'm an actor, not an astrologist. Apparently, someone in the last loop was, though."

Silas threw the leaf over his head and caught it behind his back, while still rifling through the pages.

"It's definitely not something from the Plains of Hell nor the Mirror Marshes, that can be said. Mystic, though."

(HER CORRUPTION!)

The sun conveniently began drifting towards the horizon, and the squawks of crows, mingled with the cries of some feeble rabbits, could be heard as the birds begin to hunt for something more satiating than seeds.

"Oh. I suppose that's not good."
