Krampus is a Chump.

So I have to see if I'm the only one who thinks this, but is Krampus way too easy to defeat? He's a chump if the player character has a spear and football helmet. Krampus dies before he can even take a single pinecone out of a chest, and this gear can be aquired easily by like day 2.

The idea of Krampus was to make meat less effective, by punishing the player for abusing the wildlife. But how he is now, he's not even the slightest threat. Kill as many defenseless pigs as you want, because Krampus will just get his **** rocked.

Personally, I would be happy if Krampus came into your camp, took your ****, and then ran away. If he was faster than you, he would be a real threat.

quick question, just how many days are you at?

because up to 4 can spawn after 100+ days, and at THAT stage, they are an awful lot of handful at times if you aren't careful.

Also, krampus IS faster than you, he's just easily distracted by all the chances to loot stuff.

Sometimes more than one Krampus appear at the same time. This may be a problem if they attack on different sides. You have to fight one, while the other Krampus is stealing your stuff.

Krampus attacks escalate in a similar manner to hounds; the more days you go, the more of them show up.

Ah so at first it's like, oh wow, no challenge, I'm gunna kill what I want!

But then you get set in that mindset, and a few in game weeks later like 3 pop up and go for your stuff.

My question is, if there's more than one and you attack one, will the other/others aggro on you?

I'll give you a small tip :p

Try using backpacks, and just drop them on the floor instead of chests...

Krampus won't have anything to destroy!

Items on the floor won't despawn anyways!

Is Krampus supposed to destroy chests? They've only opened them for me.

The main priority in their minds is to steal your stuff, and not really care about you.Only when you attack Krampus enough,he becomes aggro on you,and the rest of them, should there be more than one, will not be aggro'd untill you attack them aswell. As Soon as there is nothing left to loot they will just run around a bit.

HOWEVER.They have a nasty trick upon their sleeves, and I haven't seen this trick listed on the forums yet,or I might have not seen it,but..They can climb in their sack and VANISH.It happened to me once, and I couldn't make a screenshot sadly, because I didn't see it coming at all.One Krampus looted some items on the ground, then a pig attacked him(pigs hate him for some reason),and after killing the pig and looting it's meat,he stood still a bit, opened the sack, jumped in it and he vanished in a similar way Maxwell does.Bye bye items :'(

That's a shame, I feel they should aggro, protect their fellow Krampus' (Krampii? :p) Would make it even harder with 3-4 of them kicking you where it hurts.

I'm thinking what with current preventatives in place, and the relative ease that krampii can be dispatched when you understand how the AI operates, i'm seriously thinking that krampus SHOULD team aggro you like other swarm mobs in this game.

I mean, it only makes sense because he only comes after you if you've been a complete and utter ****** to all the harmless and furry things. It makes sense that krampus should be a PUNISHMENT, rather than just an opportunity for more loot( charcoal, krampus sack).

Interesting, that makes killing him quickly very important to get your stuff back.

From what i've seen he always destroys the first chest he comes in contact with, collects the contents, and retreats. This prompted my "Krampus Defense mk2: Chest Cube Matrix" :D, Make a tight group of chests, fill them with stuff you want to save, then build a ring of empty chests around those, he'll never attack the good chests as long as you keep replacing the empties he wrecks.
