Any way to prepare for bearger?

Recommended Posts

So i have a fridge with all my food stocked up for winter, and i'm afraid to lose it all because of the bearger, is there any way to keep him from stealing all my food?  :wilson_dilemma:

might want to read this, just for good measure

If it is Autumn, and you hear a giant coming, run away from your base, otherwise he will wreck it with his AOE attack.

The giants will spawn near your player character. Bearger can be kited by using a road for the speed boost, wait till he swings at you, then hit him twice and run away. There is a guide for kiting the giants on the first page of these forums.

Wear armor of course, log suit and football helmet together will work. He hits very hard, and it will take around a day to kill him.

I don't really know how to kite. you just use wasd or what? because in the gif he didn't use his mouse

well almost the first thing the dude says in the post is "I recommend using your mouse to move your character around and use the "f" key to hit the giants.". Give it a try and see how it works. It's not all that important, mouse or keyboard, it's what you're better with. Maybe start a new world and try kiting a tentacle so you kill it without taking any damage. It's good practice :)

Even though bearger is easy to kill, i prefer to put him to use - so to prepare for him i pacify treegaurds in an area away from my base. When bearger comes i just take him there... he knocks down all the trees i used to pacify the treegaurds, and in doing so agros them all and gets himself killed. Might take a day or 2 to loot the area.

easy way: old bell...and it's done bye bye boss(even dragonfly is freakin' easy!)you got one bell per season if you kill it each time(glommer)if you use old bell 2 times you get one additionnal use per boss...it's fair!

Old bell takes some luck though. You can't panflute them because the bell wakes creatures up after use. So you either have to hope they walk into the foot, or use an ice staff.

Easiest way I've found is to lead Bearger into a forest. He will destroy a lot of trees with his AOE attack, and it summons huge numbers of Treeguards who will kill him.

You get lots of free wood, and living logs too.

Or feed him 10 honey so he goes to sleep, and blow him up with gunpowder.

nop your right but somes giants are their weaknesses...bearger : ring the bell and drop honey he will walk toward and SMASH!

dragonfly(easier): ring the bell and drop ash (idem but quicker(the boss) so don't do drop and ring he will get angry and kill you before!)

deerclops: a bit harder, make it attack and ring the bell, make it attack second time and he will walk for you and he will get stomped

M/G:when you know she will honk, ring and make her attack etc...

It's just timing and technique but for bearger and dragonfly(harder) it is easy so don't complain!

I used to blow up the giants and finish them with blowdarts or my trusty spear, but now I just use them to clean my swamp of tentacles until they die. Lots of tentacle spikes for free, giant's loot and a safer place to gather my reeds. Just make sure to stay away from said reeds while you're leading the giant around.

The only thing you really need to do is to run away from your base as soon as you hear a giant coming. The rest is matter of preferences about how you deal with them.
