He had bumped into the leg of some sort of dark creature. It was a tall, striding monster, composed entirely of marble, humanoid in form. His head was deformed and misshappen, with no mouth, and purple crystals for eyes. Dark magic radiated from it's long claws, sharpened for ripping and tearing. It was at least 3 or 4 times the boy's size. It looked down at him coldly, then raised a leg. It's leg ended at a sharp, angular point, likely meant for skewering. The marble strider drove the end of it's leg at the boy's throat with a stabbing motion.

The boy turned his head behind while still running. As he sees the torso of the monster floating after him, he runs even faster.

Suddenly he falls after hitting a rock. He quickly gets back up, but his ankle is now twisted.

(What does lobbing mean? Wells, I'll assume it means something like throw.)

The boy dodges the fire ball and throws a rock at the enemy. He than looks for a way to escape, but with his twisted ankle he knows he couldn't run for too much. He notices some twigs scattered on the ground next to a piece of flint. He briskly grabs the stuff and starts tying them together.

(Let's make a human character for a change.

Name: Maven Clarence Wulfriac

Race: Human

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Backstory: We all have our choices that can change how radically our life moves. The reason why many of us make rash choices is because none of these choices we are presented with are dramatic. We wouldn't ponder over what to do and what not to do because it would be obvious. Jumping off of a twenty story building to land in a helicopter and defuse a bomb is dramatic. Using a belt buckle in a car is not dramatic. Guess which action, or lack thereof, kills thousands each year. Maven is one of those people that crave for adventure and drama. Unfortunately, with the lives that most of us put up with day in and day out prevent such notions to be born. Of course, that doesn't mean outside help couldn't interfere. (Yet ANOTHER snippet.)

Abilities

A Satchel of Materials, Food, And Ancient Voodoo

At first sight, the tough, ivory backpack he dons is an average vessel for supplies, though it definitely does hold more than the average hand-weaved straw satchel. In the bottom of the compartment, however, is a small cloth bag, small enough to be held in one hand. This is Maven's favorite artifact that he uses regularly; it can hold more than it appears. Much more. If one were determined enough, they could poke the entirety of their head inside into the bag and see a largened bag with several stacks of books, containers, and other storage items.

I Wonder What This Does?

Inside of the cloth satchel are all of the mystic objects he has collected while adventuring and decided to keep with him. Of course, as he travels all the time, he has forgotten about what these artifacts do; one would even question if he  knew this cloth bag was in his backpack in the first place. Some of the artifacts he has are dangerous, some are helpful, but all are powerful, and not knowing what power you hold can be dangerous.

Fast Travel on Foot

Having spent most of his life walking over many treacherous conditions and unconventional roads, he has a respectable amount of agility and stamina; surprisingly, however, he is quite weak without some sort of defense, such as a spear.

Appearance: Wearing a worn down trench coat, a faded gray fedora with a now bleached ribbon, he wears

Personality: He acts too much like a truant schoolboy for his own good

Side Notes: His cloth bag has several items that he hasn't had time to implore and experiment with; some of them might have lost their power or energy, but here are what he knows he most definitely didn't lose;

  • Ornately Carved Ebony Rod (Replaceable Caps)
  • Coloured Glasses (Lever-like Lens)
  • Decorated Black Box (Purple Decorations)
  • Steam Powered Musicbox (Brass)
  • Boomerang (White And Red Color Scheme)

Eh?)

(That is a lot of characters with bags full of voodoo. Let me think this one over and get back to you.)

"If only that was the case....come on....maybe there's something important happening."

Wilson put on a puffy vest, got out a fresh spear, and headed out to investigate what was going on.

He tries to free from the creature's hand.

"GET OFF ME!"

He punches the arm for a bit, but his eyes start losing focus.

<I need to resist...I need to fight...>

<FIGHT!> says a voice in his head. A different voice.

The boy's eyes turn purple. A ball of purple energy forms in his right hand.

"AAAAAAH!"

A purple knife has formed in his hand, and he smashes it into the creature's arm with all his strength.

The blade failed to fully pierce the marble strider's rocky carapace, the knife becoming stuck in the strider's arm. Wilson obliviously ran over.

"What's going...."

Wilson stopped cold upon seeing the marble strider.

"...on.....here?"

The marble strider turned to Wilson. He fell over backwards from the shock, and scrambled back up onto his feet. Instead of attacking, however, it merely removed the knife from it's arm, without so much as a noise or a flinch, threw the boy to the ground, and sank into the ground, disappearing. Wilson waited for a whole half minute, not sure if he would come back or not, before walking over to the boy.

"....H...hey...kid....are you alright?"
