What do you hate to see?

Recommended Posts

I died when my armor broke and the spiders ate all my jerky and honey ham. :(

That's the extra insult to injury, when they omnomnom all your meat food.

The thing I hate to see is the blowdart from an offscreen MacTusk... right after I killed my target MacTusk and breathed a sigh of relief.

I was also traumatized early on by the field of killer beehives; I was exploring in the dark on Willow, and suddenly THE BEES. And OHGOD MORE BEES... WHY WON'T THEY STOP???  I spent that whole game gearing up to get my damn lighter back.  Now I quite like having a field of them around since I'll just plop on my beekeeper mask whenever hounds come by and run straight in.

2) Being purchased by the hounds during night, holding your torch, the first one runs out, it's replaced by the second one (ALWAYS have two torches ) and when you see that it's near 0% you try crafting another one and get killed.

"Hello, welcome to MaxDonalds!"

"One Wilson burger please."

"That'll be 3 gold nuggets, sir."

Also, kinda honestly hated seeing the "All's Well That Maxwell" update, since for whatever

naive reason I thought maybe Klei would keep going with the updates for a longer time and

release some side-DLC like a new cave layer or something. Instead, they seem to have taken

the route of releasing things which feel like they ought to be updates as pay-to-access DLC.

Haha, as I speak french, I sometimes use words that are false friends in English

I think it's "pursued" instead ? I don't even know

Bref, en français je voulais dire "être pourchassé" :-)

What's so bad about this friendly creature?

He's right.

It's not like Tusk attacks us without reason, just don't get near his son or attack him, he is overprotective.

If you stand still he is dancing and not attacking you, and if he spots not friendly creature (or friendly) he attacks it, but not us.

This is a tale about great Tusk.

Once upon a time, when I was trying robot for the first time, I met Tusk, he seemed friendly to me, he was just standing here, dancing and making silly faces, so I ran back to base to get him some meat so he would be my ally, on the way home, I found chess biome, I was pretty noobly with winter back then, so I always wore full winter protection and no armour, I had only 125 health left, chess biome bishop attacked me, I had 85 health left, then, he striked me again, 45 health left, then, glorious Tusk shot Bishop, right after bishop striked me third time, left with 5 hp, I saw Tusk, fighting will all the clockwork beasts, he died gruesome way, with his son crying and hounds trying to protect WeeTusk...

He did it to protect me...

I got back there with armour, murdered all clockwork beasts, his hat, his walrus tusk and his corpse were on ground... I had a gravestone near my base, I put the hat, tusk and all the meat right in front of gravestone...

In Adventure Mode, when he sees you, he goes TOWARDS you, and shoots you. And his darts are insanely hard to dodge. It's like "Oh, you don't have a boomerang? You're screwed then."

No, he does not, you must've angered him first.

He never attacks without provocation.

Now I feel kinda bad about sending my pigs to kill him. Oh wait, No I didn't, they killed him without

my intervention. Because he shot at them. For no reason.

Speaking of MacTusk, what I hate to see is winter. Seriously. The day gets shorter, the night gets

longer, penguls rise out of the ocean to lay waste to any wall they see (because walking AROUND

obstacles is for scrubs), MacTusk, yes, DOES attack, along with his blue hounds, you can't go out

and walk around for much more than 3 or 4 minutes at a time, the world looks like it's covered

in bird droppings because the snow texture is ugly and blotchy, and to add insult to injury, there's

a good chance of everything you worked for being demolished by a freaking deer. The only thing

that could make winter even less enjoyable would be if it literally rained burning gunpowder.

Because they got close to his son.

Make an experiment, stand near MacTusk without moving, will he attack you? No.

Actually, you're right (to an extent) about MacTusk being peaceful-ish. His AI is quite peculiar and it

seems that as long as the player keeps a certain distance, he'll follow along peacefully, but if you get much

closer than his 'comfort zone' where he stops following and just stands there, he turns agressive and starts

spitting darts until you get far enough away, then he'll walk back up and resume his peaceful state, as if

nothing had ever happened between the two of you.

My guess is that he is not evil but in fact merely paranoid and somewhat senile. Since

I'm not sure how to spawn in the full party set up, I'm just guessing that his hounds will not

attack the player automatically?

And all this time I thought he was hunting me... My apologises to all the little McTusks whose fathers I killed multiple times

You are right, he doesn't hunt YOU, he just knows that you know where stuff to hunt is, Wilson (or any other character) doesn't drop meat, so hunting them would be pointless, he follows you around so you may find food for him.

Also, Mactusk saved me from Deerclops on The Game is Afoot, clockwork creatures on King of Winter and on the King of Winter too, saved me from angry Tallbird.

Is it the hounds that flush you out and get you to aggro MacTusk, then?

I've gone walking around many times and had the hounds start chasing me and MacTusk start blowdarting me as I ran away from all of them. I like trying to find ways to coexist with most of the world's denizens, so finding a way to avoid aggroing him would be great, but I'm still skeptical.

Update: I just ran into MacTusk & Co. (Wendy, Abigail was active).  And I stood there for a minute and he didn't aggro (did his dance too).  But then he decided he didn't like the look of Abigail (who was just floating there in neutral mode), and sicced the hounds on her.

HAHA, c'est vrai que des fois y'a des mots anglais qui ressemblent trop a des mots francais qui veulent pas dire du tout la meme chose XD

You indeed meant pursued...XD
