DLC, soon please!

First and foremost you guys have created one of the most innovative and clever games I've played in my gaming career. The stylistic graphics and spooky game-play nuances truly make for a scary survival setting.

I purchased this game day one and payed maybe $13 dollars for it, after the hours I've dumped into this game (I will not admit how many ;p) I would easily would have paid double that amount...if not more.

The most rewarding and engaging facet of this game I found was adventure mode! The new challenges in each new world kept me on my toes and really made me plan out each day in order to not starve.

If you come out with Don't Starve DLC, I encourage you to really expand on the adventure mode and really make it your own!

You guys are awesome.

Love,

Kain

DLC will be released when they have the time, when the team that had no break gets one, and (of course) when the DLC is ready to be released. Of course we all hope it's soon, but a break first is expected.

After all, why did the last puzzle let us know

there was an intermission?

Speaking of which, am I the only one who has been keeping the intermission tab up since the day it was released?

The sound would've driven me nuts, but I kept it open before the intermission, but then I realized I can bookmark it and save my computer the trouble of keeping multiple tabs open.

Not to throw this off-topic, but wouldn't mods be able to mimic all DLC?

most likely but moderation will soon stop those from being released for too long

I doubt it would be any more than a cheap imitation that would only help sell the real thing based on how bad the mod version is.

Can't comment on mod-copying until I know the roadmap of what the DLC will be...

Come on Klei, give us some hints :-)

The answer is, and I'm not saying it would be easy, nor that I would encourage it, "yes". Although, that all depends on how they implement it. I imagine they'll include some form of protection, to keep people from simply swapping the lua files over to mod form. They will most likely implement the foundation of the DLC within the game's compiled code, keeping lua files to a minimum. They're probably going to be finding a sweet spot between using lua and adding things to the prefabs that exist only in the compiled code. Or perhaps they'll also run a test within the compiled code to see if the DLC is purchased, and then ignore (or nullify) any mod that acts identically if it isn't.

Aside from all of that, they would most certainly moderate any rip-offs.
