About Chester..

of course it is! You will take on the roll of Chester. The entire DLC will consist of you following around a random character and stuffing items in your mouth.

Do I get to bounce? God I hope i get to bounce.

not only do you get to bounce, you get to make a funny repetitive noise!

Best.

DLC.

Ever.

*Practices his Bwarrph sound when his mouth is hinged open*

    • Chester was once human, and became yet another of Maxwell's (alternatively, Their) playthings. Some form of dark magic turned him into the adorable fellow he is now.

Wait, that sounds similar to the night monster's back story. So, if they created Chester and the night monster in a similar fashion... does that mean that Charlie now looks something like Chester?

what if... charlie is chester! (I have no idea what Im doing....)

Well, if I were Xjurwi or something, I would probably tell you what you're doing. I would probably say that you are making a silly post in an internet forum. However, I am not Xjurwi, so I won't say it.

Anyway, I have to say that Charlie being Chester is rather unlikely. I mean, you can sometimes see Chester while you are being attacked by the night monster. But, other than that minor flaw, this is a great theory!

Why do you people like chester so much? I've hardly found any use for him. I rather have less inventory space than have a bouncing disaster that gets stuck in between objects and draws in enemy's to me.

ARE YOU CALLING MY POSTS SILLY GIRL.

I dare say most people like Chester because he is cute and is perhaps the only genuinely friendly creature in the game.

I like Chester because he is the only thing that can increase the number of items you can take with you that doesn't use the torso slot. If I use Chester, I can go without a backpack entirely, which is rather liberating.

What happens if I say yes?

He's your partner in adventure, keeps you company and does what he can to help you.

Chester isn't your companion. He's just mindlessly following the eye-bone.

Chester isn't as useful as he's reckoned to be. Just learn to manage your inventory and consequently you'll avoid having to manage a dimwitted, furry little vermin as well.

Chester is overrated.

He kinda tanks like a boss though. Especially useful when killing tentacles and Tallbirds.

I was thinking about him as a meatshield, not as inventory.

I have (had) no issue with my inventory. I just enjoyed having Chester with me for his huge amount of health. It's also nice to have someone with you instead of be alone all the time. Gets way boring otherwise.

Yeah, he does have a pretty nice health regeneration (also good for the bat bat). It's just that I never put any worthwhile or valuable items in him, because when push comes to shove I won't bother with spiders from 5 tier 3 dens...

I do believe that he should be modified to suit his main purpose of transporting goods, instead of exploiting his safety net for avoiding player frustration after he frequently dies due to stupidity.

I've honestly never had any issue with him aggroing him things or getting stuck on crap.

A lot of people complain about it but I've never ever seen him get stuck on stuff, which is weird because my bases are usually riddled with walls and such.

When did you start playing the game?

It's not been copyrighted yet, so you're fine, as Xjurwi can explain :-)

Oh, and another thing which will be better than a simple mobile chest is Chester pending to be upgraded to that cool black-shadow look (and three new inventory slots) when fed Nightmare fuel in all slots by the start of a full moon of course...

It's nice to have stuff in reserve without having to have a pack/sack when fighting or wearing winter clothes. I find Chester no better or worse as Abigail, and even use (or soon to be used if I easily want to keep him shadow) him as a death dealer with the "drop on death delivering mines" trick...one I will sadly have to stop if I don't want to refill him with nightmare fuel if the full moon is returning...when he returns the next day always...

Yep, tentacles for me since I don't kite that well.  And sometimes I catch myself speaking to him like a family dog such as "You good BOIEE you...."

Indeed if he gets stuck on a pathing thing and it happens to be grouped where there are a lot of enemies (spider rockylands, swamps,) it can be upsetting, which is why I don't store anything of value in him either.
