Nyx_Overkill
I was roaming an already explored ruins and i noticed that around every nightmare light crystal there is about 4 nightmare fuel on the floor. So at this moment i run throught the half ruins and gathered about 100 fuel.Is that normal? Before six feet under, there wasnt fuel nowhere around crystals.Do they changed that?
Craig_Perry
that's odd, looks like an exploit. Considering you are in the ruins though I think the nightmare fuel should stay and give that little extra incentive to travel down there
Nyx_Overkill
Just to mention that the ruins are 250 days old.I dont know if something has to do with that.A new generated ruins maybe throw some light in the mystery.Anyone from Klei can answer please? xD
hotflungwok
I saw this in a game started before the update too. I haven't been down there long in my new game, but I haven't seen any nightmare fuel lying around yet.
the truthseeker
Okay, I stink at cave survival but will see if this still happens after the hotfix also...didn't make it to three digits though when I went caving last time, so I need to be better there anyway
oCrapaCreeper
When the nightmare lights close, any shadow creatures alive will die and drop their nightmare fuel. It's most likely that.
Nyx_Overkill
So probably it is a reward for veteran players that fully explored ruins in the first update for the ruins

Nyx_Overkill
Ok,its confirmed.I went on ruins, cleared an area from nightmare fuel, waited for flux to go max and hallucinations appeared. When flux calmed down and lights turned off i searched again around the crystals and i found new nightmare fuel.A lit bit op but balances the mess that depth worms waves do to cave exploring... the truthseeker
Ironically, by the time you are surviving well there, you shouldn't be hurting for getting new (renewable) resources, including nightmare fuel. But if one needs to constantly fight and one might be using shadow-based items (along with their Thulecite ones,) I guess it's OK to have a renewable resource this way...as long as it's not dropping too highly. Craig_Perry
Not for long...not even going to bother going in them if that gets patched, the Thulecite stuff just isn't worth the risk for me

TeoSS69
I posted a question about this in the All's Well That's Maxwell update thread early on, but it got ignored.Meh, i'm gonna try this in a new world tomorrow and then report it. oCrapaCreeper
This really doesn't seem like a bug. Nightmare Monsters die when the lights close. They drop nightmare fuel, hence why there is nightmare fuel on the ground.

This way every time I go over 30 sanity all the Shadow Creatures following me should die and drop nightmare fuel.
Nyx_Overkill
Over 30 sanity creatures just stop following you. They dont die. After higher levels of sanity, creatures disappear. We need a new generated ruin level to check if its a bug or not but i think its not a bug. goldfish911
Oh boy, more incentive lost. Of course, maybe it is a feature, but it kinda removes the point of actually having to kill the nightmare monsters( on a side note, the bush hat protects you from hallucinations? Makes zero sense, as noone can hide from their insanity. But whatever.)
