Adventure Mode Cave Level

Recommended Posts

theres a reason why Caves aren't in adventure mode (at this Point im sorry to break your dreams), Adventure mode is a journey to find maxwell, to get to him, you must travel throguh 5 different Levels with the teleportato, it wouldn't make much sense to go down to the Caves becaus they have nothing to do with adventure mode and it would be more like suicide to go down there since Cave death is perma death

But there could be some sort of cave challenge beside the adventure mode. Since caves are a regular part of the game and finished now. I think it could be a good way for an additional challenge. It could even be available after finishing adventuremode.

They could even use the opportunity to expand on the lore a bit. The Ruins bring up a lot of questions, and thanks to Maxwell's quote we know the Ancient Guardian wasn't always a rampaging hairy rhino beast. I'd like to see a little back-story on that thing, I bet it used to be benevolent.

What does a world that rains frogs have to do with Maxwell?  It's just another area to go through.

I'd like to see caves used in some sort of adventure mode level. I don't think it would actually belong in adventure mode though because that's already complete and doesn't need any new levels, really.

In addition to an all-cave level, it would be interesting to have a mixed surface and cave world. For example, a world could have multiple islands that are only connected with caves. Of course, this would require caves with multiple exits, which is something that hasn't been implemented yet.

Sorry but I think kevin wanted adventure mode and caves to not be included in each other. Plus the point of caves is to be sort of like pandoras box its not something your *suppose* to go do but if you brave it I can be rewarding. (That said I wish more cave enemys came to the surface to when its opened to show this. A good idea is once a ruins are opened the surface gets a new nightmare biome that the nightmares control.)

Well, if there was a cave adventure level, I would want it to be separate from the current adventure mode anyway. I don't see why we couldn't have some sort of alternative adventure mode featuring worlds with caves.

Personally, I think that caves' optionalness makes the gameplay experience in them fundamentally different than on the surface. I don't care what extra rewards I may find down there, if they are not intrinsically rewarding to explore, I won't feel motivated to do it. However, if caves were incorporated into an adventure mode world in a meaningful way, they would probably be a lot more fun.

I actually agree with Sporb - I would personally love a plot-based adventure focussed on Caves. Even if it had to be DLC.

It'd give me more of an impetus to go in - the fact that it's optional and there's no obvious endpoint makes it feel less compelling than the wilderness.
