Is there anyway to create permanent light?

Recommended Posts

So, i'd like to know if there's a way to create permanent light in caves, or atleast light that would last longer then 1-2 days (im looking at you, lightbulbs)

Also, 'nother question if you light a fire in the caves, then go to the surface, then come back 2-3 days later, will the fire remain lit at the same height at which it was when you left, like minecraft where only loaded chunks work, or will the time in caves still pass as time aboveground is spent?

Ok, i think i got that down, xD

Can you please answer my second question now?

"if you light a fire in the caves, then go to the surface, then come back 2-3 days later, will the fire remain lit at the same height at which it was when you left, like minecraft where only loaded chunks work, or will the time in caves still pass as time aboveground is spent?"

go to ruins bring all the recipes at the destroyed pseudo station and make Magiluminescense..

drop it to the ground and there you go, almost perma light..

when the light goes off, just pick it up and drop it again

Im fairly sure that was removed in the moderately friendly update, but ill go check with debugspawn real quick

It used to be the entrance of caves has perma light so u can build your base there. But now thats gone, i just build my base around light plants since they are permalight. The totems in adventure mode is permalight. Caves trees gives off light as well. Pseudomachines are permanent light too if you want to build your base there :p

Well, thanks guys, now i just need to figure out how to mark this as solved, or just lock it, or hope a mod sees it and closes/locks it

you just let it drift down the line. if you see a locked thread, that means someone in the thread screwed up. Locked threads are a bad thing unless they are in areas that allow you to lock your own threads (off-topic, trading, etc)

Well you can do what I did, build firepits all over the place in the caves. Carry around a couple stacks of wood. Use those as mini bases or waypoints if you will. And use your miner hat or lantern for mini excursions. Gradual is generally better in the caves. I've been attacked by about 80 spiders at once, and it wasn't fun. I was lucky to survive it.

Well, i've finally managed to get a steady supply of dragonfruits and pies, this winter ill be going down in the caves for a while ill try to take everything ehre into account, although ill probably just get scared and forget everything i've ever known
