Woah I've always had trouble finding a look I like on Warly but this is it I love it.

I like how klei keeps adding endgame content that 80% of players never reach to, and completely ignore QOL and half of DST items being useless. Literally play Uncompromising mod, it is what don't starve together should've been. I would take half a year of no new content just for new QOL. Look at how much it took them to fix 1 issue about the night light))) And it is hard to call it lazy because they ARE doing work, but not what players really want.

Been saying this since the start of rifts... So much stuff in this game that has potential to be good, but they refuse to work on any of it... No fixing biomes, or caves, finishing skill trees, or finally fixing 50% of items that are redundant, but instead adding super late game content that requires 10s of hours of gameplay to reach.

id rather they get it all finished now than leave it unfinished for years on end and make it feel worse than it already does feel sometimes. I warmed up to the lunar questline a lot once it had a proper conclusion and im hoping the same for the shadow conclusion. A lot of old stuff really does need changes, but at the very least you can say that theyre in a finished and playable state. you werent able to say that about the endgame content for several years.

Defeating AFW in the first year of the game, around day 45, is considered late game? Because everything made available in this update can EASILY BE DONE up to day 50 of the game. This is considering that some players manage to do it up to day 29.

In fact, after the 11th it's perfectly possible to face the Ancient Guard Tower.

They literally buffed several underused/ niche items (nightmare amulet and night light you mentioned specifically, and indirectly the telelocator focus/staff with the new items), and added an area you can comfortably access all of the content for pre rifts (heck, the thermal tools/coals are literally a day 1-5 thing you can experience). What are you talking about?

Maybe I just absolutely SUCK at this game but do you mind enlightening me on how you are able to defeat Four enemies with 6000HP that all Four are simultaneously spawned in at the exact same time?

I want to watch someone who isn’t an expert kites man, do this fight solo, because I’ve been watching this video of it, to be quite honest I’m horrified of it.

Almost every boss fight in this game feels like a real struggle..

And one day I plan to actually sit down and do the math (I hate math..) of exactly how many Glass Cutters or Repair Kits for a Brightshade Sword (which is laughably super late game by the way to finally get a weapon that can be repaired) calculate up all three of Celestial Champions phases health, then factor in how much damage PER SWING that weapon does, alongside how many swings you’ll get to use it in before it breaks..

It’s simply not fun. Maybe it’s fun for some.. but it hasn’t been fun for me for a very long time. 😢

I do however love the Geothermites they are cute, and don’t require a bazillion hits to kill.. and they drop heat glands which are used to craft the new heated tools & coals. The Coals are neat.

Also: Rabbits will chase after and try to kill you if you have heat glands in your inventory, it took me awhile to notice that šŸ˜‚

I mean... We just got WX skill tree in the beta prior to the last one.

Night Lights got buffed on this beta.

On previous betas we got stuff like Drying Rack buffs and Geometric Placement, as well as Morning Star Buffs.

I know that the focus of those betas are on other stuff, but Klei is regularly delivering on QoL and is also working on finishing the skill trees, on top of advancing the main storyline.

They even highlighted that they do, in fact, plan on revisiting some old skill trees that don't live up to their current quality standard.

So... I think people are just focusing on the wrong things? Yeah, QoL is not the main focus of the updates, but we're still getting QoL with some regularity.

The thing is, you're notĀ meantĀ to fight them all at the exact same time. The secret to beating them relies on their affinity for prioritizing shadow creatures over anything else. That's why the nightmare amulet (or post weaver, the bone helm) is so crucial to the fight; you can stall 3 of them as you beat one of them up one to one, and rinse and repeat for the other three.Ā 

In addition, there's a mechanic onto when they get down to half health they fall over, and they actually takeĀ increasedĀ damage from non planar attacks. It actually is more beneficial to use a weapon like the dark sword/hambat than the brightshade/void weapons for this reason.

Again this fight is like, veryĀ veryĀ intended to be beatable with non planar gear. It looks overwhelming at first, but once you get the gimmicks of the fight down it's very doable. The only thing you should never,Ā everĀ do is use the levers in the centerĀ beforeĀ killing the guards, as the minions spawned by that will greatly complicate the fight (they ignore the shadow creature gimmick and they also actively get on top of the guards, which makes them very annoying to take down).

do 80% of players just never explore the ocean and power archives?

Dear Mike, I know you play on PS4 and I wouldn't even be able to measure how difficult it is to play on a console. I play on PC and that's what I'm referring to. Don't mention beginners, because they die to a Deerclops. It's perfectly possible to beat AFW in the first year. It's a matter of strategy and preparation. And whoever doesn't have that, can spend 1000 days playing and still not succeed.
