So let me get this straight. Even if we don't buy this DLC, you're still going to change the game for everyone that have no desire to have the game they've played for almost a decade changed?

Or does it only affect Spaced Out?

Doesn't this game release patches every couple month that change stuff? Not sure if it is "the same as a decade ago" right now

These are not minor adjustments. This is about Klei attempting to kill off the game and disguise it as an update.

Aren't you a little bit over-dramatic? All I see here are balance patches. Some of these decisions may sure be questionable, but I can map all of them to an intent to improve the game.

For instance: Sure, I was pissed when they wrecked my dreko misery ranch. But they were right. My dreko misery ranch was absolutely OP. And in the end, it wasn't even that bad (for me). I overproduced meat so I effortlessly pivoted to rhexes for all my fiber needs. Now it's shinebug misery reactors' turn it seems.

Not sure this applies here, since you can easily play literally any version of this game, since it's fully offline. For base game it's just regular patch, which they were already doing for years regularly

That's an amazing DLC! New beautifull water, amazing biomes, new maechanics and creatures - that's all incredible! You made a good job.

Was fun to see dublicants trying to swim in small amount of water on a tile instead of walking 😁. But i don't think it must work that way, hehe

And i guess there must be some more of decorative buildings and recreation resources like water slides or a springboards. Aquariums for new decor plants?

I did a few experiment with this one. I'm quite displeased with the fact that the removal of the maximum temperature limit is not limited to the turbo mode. I now have unregulated tepidizers in many places I never intended to see heat up above 85C, some of which are now very hard to access or revamp.

Also, I always thought this limit was intended to prevent infinite power setups when rigged with a steam turbine. If I use the current wiki numbers, I can now power more than four steam turbines with a single tepidizer and I only need the power of little more than one to keep the tepidizer on. Am I missing something like some sort of built in diminishing return?

Edit: I mean, I know finding clever ways to abuse thermodynamic is half the fun in this game, but this one is not clever.

This change concerns me as well. It creates a ton of balance problems and doesn't add any fun gameplay. What even could be the rationale here? Makes no sense.

The new heater without turbo generates ~976 kDTU/s per 960 W of energy; with turbo, it generates the same as before: 4,064 kDTU/s per 4 kW of energy. Steam turbines can’t even offset the costs

Even so, doesn’t this make it trivial to boil any kind of water? Just submerge the tepidizer in oil, put whatever water (or nectar) you want, boil it, and harvest the dirt/salt/sucrose. Previously we had to use aquatuners + a heat source to do this, which is a more interesting design challenge.

Imo a lot of the recent changes, like this one, are simplifying the game too much while not adding any challenge for experienced players. We really need more difficulty options!!

Ha yes. Those new numbers are far more sensible. They are close to what steam turbines do, but in reverse and slightly less efficient. If the tepidizer's material can handle the desired temperatures and steam turbines are used at max efficiency, the lack of limit now allows for efficient heat transfer through the electrical grid.

To be quite honest, I did more than a few of those setups in my oni career and I always found them to be needlessly clunky.

That’s a great point. Of course we want the game to feel polished, intuitive, and non-clunky. The problem with that in a game like this is that problems are now significantly easier to address in a reasonable timeframe. Time = resources (ie food, oxygen, power), so when problems are quickly solved the resources needed to solve them are also reduced. I think this is the core issue underlying the frequent complaints about difficulty. If we had better difficulty options (eg oxygen consumption rate, generator wattage) we could achieve a challenging game while still reaping the benefits of all the recent improvements.

1) I'm asking once again for a base game use/sink for Sulfur

2) please give a way to make the 4k conductive wire in the base game

3) Gib cute beds in cosmetics

Happy to buy the DLCs, am also just routinely a player of the base game just personal preference (still haven't reached the end yet in a run)

I'm honestly happy for the Pacu nerfs/Pokeshell buffs, which I thought I was going to be disappointed with lol

Pacu were definitely too OP before with respect to Food/Lime, and I never felt the urge to ranch Pokeshells because of how easy Pacu are. With the Prehistoric Planet Pack Jawbos, you can even turn Pacu into Iron and Oxygen! A nerf was well deserved, and now I'm curious what new ranch setups we'll be coming up with to maximize happiness/egg laying.

Special shoutout to the art team! I love all the new flora/fauna designs, color palettes, music, and SFX, and to the technical team for stitching everything together behind the scenes! I'm sure the swimming mechanics were a headache to get right. Great job to the whole crew, looking forward to the full release!

Can you expand on that?

Now that we have zinc, can we also have brass/bronze? Made at the rock crusher and metal refinery with the versatility of steel, but overheat temps like refined iron or copper (or even slightly better than that, but less than steel). And of course better thermal conductivity and specific heat than gold amalgam. I've been wanting this in the game for a very long time.

uh.. as far as I can look up, the Stop Killing Games movement is about online games (like multiplayer or otherwise) being taken offline. Not... for updates you don't like. Pretty embarrassing post from an otherwise mature forumer

Oxygen not included does not require an internet connection to play

It's less about making a misinformed post, but more so making one in bad faith.

This is something I'm hoping for, too.  A new drecko or hatch morph that produces latex would be a straightforward way to allow everyone access to the new (and much appreciated) wires, but as is, there's no way to get them in the base game unless we shuffle these biomes into the world gen or get care packages.
