Hey guys, here is the first update with some of the changes we are working on for part 2 of the Hostile Takeover update.  This one took a bit longer because we had to go through every single creature to add their shock states.  More to come soon!

Additions

  • Added shock states to all creatures with the following exceptions:
    • Machine (but not Clockworks), rock, and cookie based creatures are immune to electric damage and shock.
    • Plant based creatures take electric damage, do not have a shock state, and are set on fire when electrocuted.
    • Shadows, gestalts, and ghosts take electric damage, but do not have a shock state.
  • Electric attacks have a chance to chain to nearby creatures (shock effect only, not damage).
  • Lightning strikes will now shock and damage enemies that are able to be electrocuted.
  • Added Electric Fence Post item.
    • Triggers a minor shock which has no damage and does not set plant based creatures on fire.
    • Currently, the blueprint is dropped by Scrappy Werepig, but we may change how it is obtained later.
  • Added more Research Notes to get from Wagstaff.

Quality of Life

  • Rendering optimizations for Lunar hail, Celestial Scion’s ground attack effects, and Winona’s Shadow Planar Strike.
  • Terramite electric beams no longer block mouseovers.
  • Placement of the drones for the W.A.R.B.O.T. fight now snap to their placement locations.
  • Boat placement is no longer blocked by items and birds.  Items will be pushed away, and Puffins will fly away.

Changes

  • Buzzards will now fly away when taking fire damage.
  • Notional Fabricator now starts with a recipe to make Astroggles and Incomplete Experiment Blueprints.
  • Post Celestial Scion
    • Notional Fabricator gets Wagstaff's private stash of blueprints.
    • Lunar mutated bosses will now drop ingredients for creating Spark Arks.
  • Updated Celestial Champion so it can’t be frozen like its Celestial Scion phase.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Void Masque controlled creatures counting towards naughtiness.
  • Fixed Moon Quay Pirate Banners not having better placement detection.
  • Fixed Structure Alignment not working on controllers for some deployable items like Winona's Generators and Boats.
  • Fixed recipe description for Wandering Trader’s Living Log trade.
  • Fixed bugs related to Pearl’s fishing behaviour.
  • Fixed controllers not being able to aim left when casting Willow’s Lunar Flame.
  • Fixed Wigfrid and life drain mechanics from gaining stats when attacking a Deck of Cards.
  • Fixed a crash when trying to place a skinned Sisturn.
  • Fixed bug with Stone Chair turning invisible after changing its skins several times.
  • Fixed bug with not being able to repair Terramites in your inventory
  • Fixed a bug with Terramites turning invisible in containers.
  • Fixed Frogs and Smallbirds from attacking non-targetable entities.
  • Fixed crash when Terramites hit the Moon Stone with a skinned Star Caller’s Staff in it.
  • Fixed crashes when comparing strings on certain MacOS builds.

Notes for modders

  • The mod release ID for this patch is R38_ELECTROCUTE.
  • The tag "wagstaff_detector" has been changed to "moonstormevent_detector".

Yassss, but where r drying racks

Drying racks are the next content arc. It will be twice as long as from beyond and will include multiple consecutive updates to drying racks. Drying rack skilltrees for each individual rack you place is the 1st major update of said arc.

the quality changes are really good. Just a little suggestion can we get a way to escape from the warbot arena now that it goes to the middle if you attack it from outside?

Currently the only characters that can escspe without dying are Wortox and Wanda(Walter can use woby to bring his items outside but has to die).

This is actually really cool. Really REALLY cool.

Ive never knew i wanted something like this, but these electric mechanics seem like they would be really cool to play around with. Sucks im on holiday, this is actually the coolest thing i have seen in ages.

Also, does this mean Crab King, and celestial champion are immune to electric damage as well?

no drying racks?

Maybe later, considering this was released on Friday suggests they might have not had time or scrapped it.

Now I want it for every structure placement

(and I will never speak of placement again, because it will be perfect)

If anything its the clockworks who should have immunity, not the other machines.

Clockworks haven't been updated in a decade, it's time they get some love.

Also, kind of disappointing we can't have those flying stun drones to make use of those shock states.

At the moment, while morning star does seem to work with the new shock states, some character specific items like the volt goat dish, elding spear, electric circuits and shockscrap shots seem to not cause it, unless I'm missing something. Possibly a bug?

Does this also happen to Wormwood? I think it would be a cool detail if he got set on fire instead of electrocuted and maybe it would make his fire downside slightly more noticeable.
