I have a question for the developers. Let's say a team with Maxwell defeats the Celestial Scion, after which it has 1 health unit left. To play the animation, the Celestial Scion needs to fly to the center. The question is that the team, let's say they don't know this and are trying to finish it off by locking it in a shadow prison, i.e. it will continuously fly to the center?

Y'all just need to stop saying every chatacter's unique abilities that counter bosses are overpowered in a PVE co-op game imo

The issue with Maxwell is that he pretty much "counters" EVERYTHING in the game, from single creatures, to aoe mobs, to AG, Dragonfly, Bee Queen, Misery, Frostjaw, Twins, FW (which you can cheese from outside thanks to walls), Scrappy, Nightmare, CC, MooseGoose, Mutated bosses, Scion, and so on. Literally every single boss (and creature) in the game is "countered" by his walls. Theres a huge difference between idk, Wendy being good at killing BQ, or Woodie having a whole "combat kit" for cheap, than Maxwell singlehandedly breaking entire bosses mechanics.

Like, recently Klei tweaked Nightmare Werepig and Fuelweaver so they trample through objects/statues/boulders, why do you think they made that change? They did it because having a boss becoming a target dummy ruins the entire fight, which is precisely what Maxwell does on the entire game.

If you think Maxwell makes the fight too easy for your taste: play a different character.

If you actually like playing as Maxwell and the cage makes it too easy for your taste: don't use the cage, make it a challenge on yourself.

You said it yourself, this is a co-op multiplayer game, most people aren't playing solo. Even if YOU don't pick Maxwell, someone else will. And personally, as much as I enjoy the "easy boss drops" if theres a Maxwell, its a whole different feeling fighting Bee Queen with some "Wendy/Wortox/Woodie combo" , than having 1 Maxwell spamming walls while 3 Wilson just hold F.

If y'all keep insisting every new fun thing that's added to X character need to be nerfed 'cause Y character has a harder time there's literally no point in ever updating the game

I agree that some people cry for nerf on things that aren't bad per-se, characters should excel at their own thing, otherwise the whole game would be "20 Wilsons with different weapons". If, for example, Klei were to nerf Woodie because "his moose is cheaper than crafting armor and weapons" that would suck, because thats the whole point of playing Woodie. But Maxwell's walls aren't even comparable to that, like I said, he turns pretty much the entire game into a "target dummy hack and slash".

I would agree that the prison shouldn't work on lunar mobs but I would like to see shadow sneak enhance/hex them for effects like dropping defense or something else

But once is asking for adding more in an already finish code that might be touched in the skill tree I would wait for that to give this suggestion

this video is misleading, yes you can trap bosses with Maxwell's shadow prison but you still have to damage them, this is awkward to do with Maxwell's minions and shadow prison because you'll end with the whole arena full of web-static. Don't tell Klei that is possible to dodge the celestial scion dash with no speed boost.

this video just demonstrates that the celestial scion will not do his web attack when at full health.

This just seems like typical Maxwell shadow prison shenanigans.

DST has stronger and weaker characters, shadow prison shouldn't be changed just because you guys want it to be when majority wants buffs.

Why do you think every single refresh there has always been some drama and it is always to encourage devs to make the character stronger? It is because most players want to play strong characters and not weak ones as we would otherwise see more nerfs over the years but that has not happened.

Everyone that is active on the forums as a group is minority of the playerbase, most casual players will never visit and post on the forums so you have to realize that whenever a poll hits 50% or even 70% in regards to nerfs or making the game harder the devs will obviously prioritize the other side because it is obvious that players that are here are very experienced and it is biased towards nerfs or increasing difficulty compared to general playerbase.

At first I was always advocating for there to be strong and weak characters and I felt this would suit the sandbox experience the best but every single refresh we see players asking for buffs for their main so it means that most people want every single character to be buffed..

The only issue I see is that Maxwell doesn't exactly have any threats like nightmares attacking him while he's casting spells. Usually through early and midgame your biggest threat are nightmares that spawn while you stay always low. But in lategame bonehelm takes away that issue anyway.

I mean, most nerf he could get is on his sanity level gestalts would assume he's at maximum to agro and sleep him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's already a thing. When I summon 5 duelists and my sanity is set at 30 or something, I still get hit by gestalts because they think that my sanity is high. Also, the first problem doesn't really exist because you can just eat sanity restoring food right away after casting a spell. (Usually, cooked cactus flesh.)

While other bosses can at least hit you in Shadow Prison, Maxwell literally controls the Celestial Scion's movement, taking away the ability to move and destroy the arena with his area of effect attack, essentially robbing him of two of his three attacks.

I'm not saying it's a bad ability. On the contrary, it's useful on bosses, but at least they can still hit you. And for Celestial Scion, moving around the arena is important.

Okay… but and hear me out on this cause I’m actually going to be bringing logic into this conversation. Maxwells abilities consist entirely of utilizing the Codex Umbra, he is the former ruler over all of the constant, the Shadow King himself.

Theres the Lunar Side… & Then there’s the Shadow Side- Both Equally powerful forces, and both at war with one another.

Logic would imply that Shadow Magic &/or weapons would be quite (rightfully) powerful against lunar entities & Vice-Versa.

Can you please stop obsessing over the characteristics of the characters? I hope that every update will be about life. Don't let Corey waste his energy on these useless updates, okay?

能不要纠结于角色的特色了吗,我希望每次的更新都是生活方面的,不要让科雷把精力都浪费在这些无用的更新上好吗?

they should buff the game , not nerf character

That's equivalent to an across-the-board nerf to all characters, even the ones that don't deserve it.

Except Maxwell will just keep shadow imprisoning, so it won't affect him much at all.
