Crabby Hermit can now be gotten rid of permanently

By moving her house and building docks, she can now be drowned. Re-entering the server will not help and she will not appear the next day either. After that, she will be gone from the world forever. If you summon her with a command, she will not be tied to the house.

 

I know some people only dream about this after her quest))

By the way, if you do this trick with a decorative table, it will now run on water and not interfere with players.
 

P.S.: This can be done in the normal version of the game (not in beta testing) on its island
P.S.S: The new phase 1 boss (modified phase 1 Celestial Champion) can also be drowned

I’m glad dock and bridge tricks like these are finally being shown on the forums with video, they have been in the game for awhile now even before the Crab Granny Rehome Tool, but people had been keeping hush hush about it so Klei wouldn’t fix all the glitches/exploits people were discovering.. 

Now that this video exists though: Klei probably needs to make things they do not intend to get lost forever respawn with idk an animation of Charlie’s shadow hand grabbing it and hurling it back onto land or something.. (for large bosses they can just blink teleport or whatever)

Even without docks and bridges the wood & grass boats were capable of similar effects.

I suppose she should respawn from her house a day later or something, no matter what you do to her. Mostly to go in line with all the other killable NPC's of the constant with a house.

She could still really use a drownable component and drowning states so that she teleports instead of being outright deleted.

How about she falls into the water, you see her shadow moving underwater, and then she jumps/climbs back to land when she's close to the shore. I mean, she is a crab.

Since this topic was brought up, drowning Pearl doesn't get rid of her permanently. You need to restart the server and wait one day and she will re-appear by her house. If you drown her, you can also complete her tasks again and earn another pearl which you then can use as decor item, or to fight pearled Crab King again (for Winter's feast ornaments and extra celestial tributes). I wish it was an official feature though, which wouldn't require drowning Pearl. Would be cool if we were simply allowed to earn more friendship points by repeating the tasks until you get 10 more, for another pearl. You can repeat certain tasks already for bundles of thanks but it'd be really cool if you could earn additional pearls without using Pearl's drowning exploit (she is super glitchy too and often doesn't give you the pearl right away after doing 10 more tasks and requires 11, or a rollback, or a server restart).

Oh I'm aware that her getting deleted doesn't permanently remove her (unless her house is also deleted I think). The issue is that the task progress and any data saved on her gets deleted too, which can include player progress for people just trying to get her tasks done.

Ideally she should not get deleted like that on drowning and should teleport to the shore, or do something fancy like this:

That said, I do agree that there needs to be a method to redo the pearled Crab King fight that doesn't involve weird stuff like that, for extra Winter's Feast ornaments and other potential things (but not Celestial Tributes as it's not intended to have more than one).

Yes, but this is a problem for dedicated servers that restart after a long time, including official servers.
You can of course roll back, but any player can secretly get rid of it.

That said, I do agree that there needs to be a method to redo the pearled Crab King fight that doesn't involve weird stuff like that, for extra Winter's Feast ornaments and other potential things (but not Celestial Tributes as it's not intended to have more than one).

Having more than one doesn't do any harm though. It can be plugged into a moon fissure to use as a standalone lunar crafting station, or just as a pretty decor item. It doesn't break the game to have more than one of these.

True, but at that point they should just let the players craft a replica for decorative purposes so they don't have to go through such convoluted methods (don't know about the crafting station bit though, that could be added onto it too).

Very late, but perhaps still helpful: if you socket 3 iridescent gems you'll get the pearled crab king Winter's Feast ornament.

Oh yeah, that is a thing, though a requirement that's not really obvious is that Pearl must have been given the broken pearl.
