I think Klei taking too much time on individual massive updates rather than multiple smaller ones would be a detriment to their ability to get community feedback, since even if betas lasted longer as a result of the updates being bigger, the community's focus would be divided between too many things to give enough meaningful feedback on. Right now, Klei's able to (as we're seeing with the current batch of skill trees) respond actively to community feedback and focus hard on specific issues until they're resolved, and that's a good thing. 

I don’t have a strong feeling about the updates, they’re far from being perfect but they’re not that bad to complain and act “ANGY” so in general I have a positive feeling towards the updates with certain worries.

Should Klei take longer to release updates? Nah, there’s a high chance they’re gonna mess up somehow anyways haha.

Jokes aside.

What Klei really needs is to be more transparent about the game direction, they need to release a kinda Pre-Alpha post telling us what they’re working on and allow us to give feedback before they start spending time and resources so they can work with a good picture of what the community wants and by the time the real beta comes out we just check if there's no bugs and the mechanics are not breaking the game.

Or something like that IDk.

Another thing DST needs is more QoL updates and Buff/Rework forgotten items (Fire/Sleeping Darts, Ice Amulet, Morning Star, Night-light, etc.) to bring these items back to the meta, Bug fixes, more cave content and of course I’m always up for more Post-Rift content and new hazards.

And balancing? I rather not talk about that people here have "Post Traumatic Nerf Anxiety" so… even when every game needs balancing to stay healthy and challenging as possible is not the best topic to talk about it.

Maybe Klei could go the Skyrim: Creation Clubs route and give controller players the option to pick out mods that they want to use and install in the game, since I don't feel like Geo Placement should be in the base game itself.

I can recall it being said somewhere that Geo placement was close to being added as an official feature specifically for console users

I'm not confident that changing DST's update frequency (whether making it shorter or longer) will affect the quality of updates at all. I was hopeful when Klei announced they were switching to 3-month update intervals that we'd get more complete updates with less bugs, but if anything I feel the opposite has happened because they end up cramming more stuff into that 3 month period. 

I am more concerned about the developers' workload, personally. It feels like in past updates, there have been so many things backlogged for developers that they could not possibly complete them in a reasonable timeframe.

Do you remember if you were during pre a new reign update time when they added disease, twiggies, juicy berry bushes and geckos? Well I want more of that. Varied world generation, different challenges. Update the cave more to have that but in a more rockier forms and different formations of the caves. Caves are so empty and unchanged that they're depressing at best yet resourceful at least.

I don't want caves changed on Atrium or specific setpieces, I want some flooding happening or places that need bridges to connect to, some parts of the world to be close but disconnected or covered in boulders as a source of rocks and tougher rocks to mine through. Prolong the game in ways that exploration would feel rewarding, the boulders added to the antlion and post rift cave quakes aren't enough on their own. Blobs are fine but they're a post-rift thing. We need some more variety to generation or resources to make the world feel fresh. Even if people reset over small generation differences, make it all somewhat equal in challenge wise at least.

I don't know if it's because of free updates, and the focus of klei development is not on not starving to death, because I feel that the quality of monthly updates on 1-2-3 is quite mediocre. If there is a vote for the paid dlc option, I will vote.

I think klei should focus more in implementing features from mods, geometric placement isn't the only mod I want to have in base game.

When it comes to updates it is really hard to tell how better it gets when there's a delay so while everyone including me was for klei having more time for each update to make something most people would find average or better without any problems it isn't so easy.

I feel the same and it isn't just bugs but more stuff crammed in together that our feedback won't change.

I have always liked the noticeable impact we had on beta forums even though I don't think klei should gather all their ideas from there and maybe could implement ingame polling but it still feels like we can change the game but I don't believe enough of our feedback is getting implemented because when beta comes out a lot of art and features are already ironed out and it would be such a waste to decide not to implement it and massive changes usually don't happen so I think klei should maybe have a pre beta phase where they pitch the ideas to players before they spend countless hours working on them.

I have said the same thing. The updates we are getting are free so they don't have as much content, I can only imagine how much content we would get If we paid for DLCs which should be like a yearly thing while game receives free updates when they don't happen.

Look at DS DLCs, we got shipwrecked, hamlet, reign of giants.. We have never had such a big update for DST ever.

I haven't noticed any issues with pacing, the only reason I feel that the current beta is facing time issues is because the actual children who cannot play the game to save their lives are throwing a tantrum that they can't have a character that lets you AFK every single boss, and the developers are scrambling to try and satiate these people instead of giving attention to the parts of the update that actually need the attention. This release would have been fine if there wasn't so much community whining. I can't blame attention being given to try and please the community, of course, so I put all this blame onto the people who aren't satisfied no matter how OP they make Wendy.

Half agree but its also the devs’ fault for setting the precedent for OP survivors/refreshes/skill trees with wanda, max refresh, wolf, woodie skill tree etcetc. 

now players of other survivors wont be satisfied if their main doesnt get the same treatment. 

With wendy is more apparent just because so many people play her.

Brotha I am a warly/wicker main, they can't being complaining. I was always happy to get a couple things and maybe some stats buffs.

The thing is that you are not the target audience for Wendy or other very strong characters. Maybe @Cats_On_Fireis since he is playing Wickerbottom because she is one of the most impactful characters while Warly is on the other side closer to Wes.

I for one hope Wanda and Maxwell get a decent power up from skill tree because there are players that enjoy playing strong characters but what's weird to me is that every character is somehow being buffed because these 2 are really strong (Mostly Maxwell). Obviously Wanda needs it more since Maxwell has health and is much more powerful If you include Wickerbottom's books but for Wanda you need to be at 35-37.5 health or less to always stay in old age.

If we listened to the forums we would be the exception and not the rule but its the other way around, it seems like everyone wants their main to be the strongest which is not what I would expect If I gathered all my data based on what people say here. I guess nothing unexpected happened, at one point everyone considered Wolfgang, WX and Wickerbottom to be the strongest and almost everyone wanted them to be nerfed or probably for their characters to be buffed to match up. 

What I am trying to say here is that players enjoy playing strong characters and they want their mains to be the strongest so every character is getting buffed on refresh or when skill tree is added and klei is listening to the players by delaying Wendy's skill tree which they wouldn't do for unpopular character but this is logical.

Wendy mains don't think she is strong enough and there's another point to be made here, they want Abigail to always fight with her which seems reasonable If we didn't consider the damage bump they get. It is not weird to like her story and want both sisters to always be there for each other.

Being replaced by Maxwell since together. Some things never change... Idk overall I think we need some nerfs but overall, everything seems fine. Mostly just removing willows planar off of non planar mobs and maybe give some stuff to wolf though to be fair, he's in a perfectly fine spot. Maxwell is a weird case. And tilting Wanda too far in anyone direction could just kill all the power. Also I am of the opinion that we should break a characters kneecaps.and them bring them.back up from there
