Klei casually dropping one of the most horrifying and interesting mobs, with huge impact on the lore, in their *bleeping* Halloween Update after saying there’d be no content until December

Y’all pulled out all the stops for this one. This has got to be my favorite update of the year and the mask monster is my new favorite in the game, I’d love for a skill tree or special item to make them controllable >:D

Try reading the update post by Klei at the start of the thread very carefully and see if any symbols or words in the post are links, that's it. They like to be very sneaky with them and often hide them in dots and commas, but in this post it's fairly obvious. 

The second link for the record skin is quite easy to find as well if you keep hovering over things and click on different moving elements. I remembered about that Wilson/Maxwell comic where you had to click on all the roses so in this one I've been clicking and following the trail of orange leaves, and on one panel it brought my attention to the record which I clicked on as well.

It's probably the portal shadow eyes name because these guys like and worship the darkness (tenebrau means darkness in latin appearantly) and say join us as in accept your new overlord where as fuelweaver tries to stop them from coming to the constant.

Yes, and tenebrau means darkness, but the masques use these as names.

contains 1 costume set, with wilson's/webber's including beard and walter's including hat

Cave spiders and spitters (also applies to sea striders and shattered spiders. turn invisible and uninteractable, though they still have the dialogue when killed by a void masque.

Similarly, Werepigs (also applies to prime mates and royal rabbit enforcers) leave seemingly unremovable corpses when killed by a void masque. This also might apply to Shadow Merms, I'm not sure, as they usually disappear without a body but an invisible one might be left behind.

So far, I've determined the following creatures can be possessed:

Pigs and Normal Pig Guards; Merms and Merm Guards, including lunar but not including shadow; Bunnymen and Beard Lords; Rock Lobsters of all sizes; Spiders, Dangling Depth Dwellers, Nurse Spiders, and Warrior Spiders; All survivors

I have not tested:

MacTusk and Wee MacTusk; Gobblers; Elite Pigs; Cozy Bunnymen; Charlie's Racers; Spider Queen; Daywalkers though I suspect Daywalkers and Spider Queens die as normal

My Klei Account transactions show me receiving the login bonus items (and the record), but the items aren't showing up in my belongings... is there anyone that can help me with this? (Sorry for the wonky screenshot--my second display has a different resolution :P)

Absolutely amazing update and I love the poem! @Jason if I may ask, did you have human translators for the poem or was this done by software? I would love to do some future (German) translations for you guys if you ever need some, it's kind of a field I am working in.

I'm curious, did anyone else get the feeling that the poem/comic looked similar to the cyclum puzzles? Are there more threads to follow besides just clicking on the record and the jack-o-lantern? Like, is anything in the poem supposed to reveal something if you increase brightness like before? Or is the image of Charlie with a mirror a hint that they added an interaction with if a player approaches Charlie while wearing the Mirror mask? Anything like that?
