Changes

  • The Midsummer Cawnival seasonal event has been enabled.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed equipped Charged Elding Spears disappearing when entering or exiting caves.
  • Fixed a crash related to the Gloomthorn being chopped while showing or hiding its fruits.
  • Fixed Lunar Cultivator II skill unlocking the Saladmander crafting recipe instead of Lunar Cultivator III.
  • Fixed crash related to Mini Signs placed on Ice Platforms.
  • Fixed missing Crab Guard and Crab Knight footstep sounds.

Notes for Modders

  • AnimState:SetForceSinglePass(bool) has been added for UIAnims with alpha fades for clients without stencil buffers.

Klei, @JesseB_Klei@V2C, anybody, recently during the release you added a new night vision effect from Gloomthorn. If it's not difficult for you, then please return the old effect, because the new one hurts your eyes very much and you can't play normally. Such a small change would save our eyes.:wilson_flower:

This, please, such a strong blue effect do damage your eyes, i get eye strain when using nightberries

I made a few threads talking about the new blue color and its hostility towards the eyes, and a few requests to revert it back to the beta's tone.
It got changed a small portion, but I still find it super painful.

I think this should be changed in the game itself. Because it is simply impossible to play with this effect without a mod

Absolutely, I'd rather not have to use a mod to revert it, but for now it works as a band-aid fix until its changed in vanilla.

Which is funny, because the event is actually stupid late this year. The last 3 years it's started in early June and ended by the end of July. I think most people figured they forgot to add it this year by this point.

I can technically endure it (I always have eyestrain anyway even when not playing simply from being permanently either insomniac or vampire when it comes to sleep, so the additional eyestrain from the blue makes not a big difference for me), but I simply feel confused as to why they made the filter to be LESS fitting the other overlay filters of the game, when the beta filter looked fitting into the overlay-filters-category rather well?

[Sorry that is just my impression, I may as well overlook some other overlay filter that I rarely see and that makes nightberry filter look less out of place]

i guess the beta one looks too similar to like moon storm full moon time or like that...but like....i seen that kind of blue that is in now in a special randomizer hack for an gamecube game and...that blue in there and in dst are pretty much the same...pain that is, i wonder if it was testet by the devs when they made it this blue because...lookin at it for long enought of times and in game alsol moving around the places, maybe doin combat even...like how is that good this blue?

Can you guys please that a look in the patters of the fight as well? It has a lot going on there when u do more damage than expected to make it skip phases and it gets real wonky. 

A friend of mine said he's having the same issue playing Wurt

might be, do you have mods on? one of my mods is in conflict with cawnival and when i run over a certain section of ground i rarely get a ding telling me i can craft something
