If it is to prevent players from using multi-tools, I would be happy even that when the player uses a Merm tools, it does not actually chop, mine, or plow, and just reduces durability.

I don't think the Merm Tools were removed for balancing, but rather the plethora of art/animation issues they had.

They broke doing every action aside from chopping/mining, so if anything they'd either need to have a lot of extra art done for them, or be reduced to those two specific actions.

It would still lose a substantial amount of its identity as 90% of the reason anyone even remembers that it exists is that it is found in the ruins, which is full of mobs that it was nerfed against. It simply wouldn't be the same.

If it's a soul-sucking tool, you'd expect it to kill hutch/chester sooner or later. Or do they just have liver-esque souls?

I would imagine it's just a life force draining one not a soul one specifically.

I understand that but life force would still make more sense as souls and life force would fall under similar but different categories and still make sense. After all you do have to wonder what the logic is behind being able to leech life from things that aren't alive.

As far as I remember, the problem was digging (side view), plowing (the object was missing) It will take time to fix, but we are ready to wait. After all, we have tools that combine a shovel/hoe, so this is a thing that can be done

Well, they still have health, and wigfrid still did leech however she leeches, i guess? converting shadows into health makes perfect sense though, they're made of fuel and fuel does the funny magic things.

I mean walls have health too and Wigfrid doesn't literally life steal it's more so her being inspired by foes which is why it doesn't work on all creatures. I'm not really sure how converting shadows into health really works other than the "It's magic I ain't gotta explain *insert bad word here*"

Figured I'd snip this in the bud before it becomes bigger than it actually is I'm not saying it needs to go back I'm just saying it made more sense the way it was before it was changed back and things could have been done to improve what most were admitting was a fairly lackluster weapon instead.

everyone hear yapping about players not being able to use merm tools...... 

and here i am; unaware you could even use them in the first place. maybe it's klei's fault that they've got such talented artists so everyone wants to use the merm tools.

It would be very well played, because Wurt has a strong grip, and other characters slip out with every blow
