Stealth Posted April 21, 2013 Share Posted April 21, 2013 I was wondering, since I'm a noob and haven't gotten far enough to make a chest (LOL) is ok to just leave stuff on the ground at my camp or will things dissapear if I'm not around and/or if they're on the ground too long? Lightning strikes are random, so they can possibly destroy your stuff. Besides, chests are cool. Also, you can make a fridge to preserve food! They don't spoil make a lot of backpacks, at least Krampus and Dearclops leave them alone.On the bad side they are indestructible, and you will be stuck with them FOREVER ! Anyway, if you get lucky, you can run across the gears needed to make an icebox through gravedigging instead of having to find and kill on Maxwell's mechanical minions. If you want to stockpile some long-lasing food before winter but you can't find any gears to make an icebox, making some jerky by putting meat on some drying racks is a good alternative, since jerky has a slow spoil rate. Then keep rabbits stored in backpacks so The King Of Winter can't destroy it. Shave beefalo and get slik for winter hat and if you are playing as Wilson, his beard is the best for keeping you warm during winter.
