Beefalo talk, inspired by the new salt lick

I don't use fire pits on boats and I don't see why anyone would.

I constantly play like that because it is fun and nice. You can even tame a Beefalo while sailing if you know what you are doing. Manure that trickles from the Beefalo makes for a very good fuel source especially if you play as Willow. Thanks for discrediting other players. xddd

If you want to make fun boat campfires for no practical reason, then you aren't above grabbing bulbs and converting them with werepig. That's my take away.

The thing is that you only see this specific instance in which it is useful but ignore how much inconvenience it brings 99% of the time.

is not tanking freezing damage/constantly draining hp because of extinguishing smoldering parts of the boat because of burning stuff on it more practical?

none? items don't have collision

This is a time management issue and you know it. Should have warmed up on the main land while doing other stuff

Not a good idea.

Assuming you will do everything you wanted on the boat beflre freezing is a bad idea. Fire pits also let you cook, and provide an even larger light radius.

I've been doing boss rushes for the past 2 weeks nonstop ever since the Guille video, and I've yet to freeze on a boat.

sounds like you're pretty good at the game and knowing how to find crab king the lunar island and all other landmarks.

but did you know: not everyone DOES boss rushes?

did you also know: my preferred sailing season is winter, and i purposefully avoid using metagaming tricks like the shape of the landmass to discover where the lunar island is.

fire pit is pretty useful in this scenario, i dont want to stop on land to reheat.

or alternatively if i just want a light source that doesn't require taking a trip to the caves/doesnt spoil.

its great if you dont think they're 100% necessary, i'm sure you dont use a sail or care about bumpers either. but some of us play the game to relax and have fun oddly enough.

Look, all I'm saying is beefalo pooping is not a real advantage and should go. Same with rot, there's no way someone unironically rot deficient due to rain.

Go ahead and build as many campfires as you want, just don't defend a mechanic I hate with a burning passion.

it has been mentioned several times in this thread that people WANT manure to continue. and to be honest klei might just not want to remove the beefalo's manure production.

its fine that you dont want it, but some people do, arguing that its useless when people are actively saying "yes i use this" is silly. just say that you find it annoying and move on.

its not like you can "win" the argument here, they want it to stay, you're not going to change their minds

let me clarify, finding it annoying IS a perfectly good reason to want it removed, but arguing that its useless isnt going to get you anywhere is all

I like poop it's handy in tight circumstances. Also if you find it annoying to clean poop consider it as an uncompromising feature of the uncompromising game :p

Personally i don't like that tamed beefalos poop everywhere. Usually if i want poop, i don't tame beefalo for that. I also don't like using it as fuel.
Me being against the pooping tamed beefs is because my base becomes littered with poop that i don't need, so i'm forced to either look at it or pick all that up, wasting time.

I mean, if there is an ipecaca that makes them poop, maybe there could be some ipe-non-caca to make them stop. Some butt plug. Or some poop-on-command feature like with pigs

I use beefalo poop alot i like it.

Good campfire fuel. Good for Wormwood. Good for Walter. I can deposit it in base.

What they should add is something to automatically pick the poop up, like a special saddle attachment using orange gem and deposits it in a poop storage.

Any buffs to beefalos requires Klei to buff Big Woby.

Big woby got left behind somewhat because of the last set of buffs to beefalos which was sad to see.

Is butt plug considered a buff? =) Cuz idk what you mean by buffs in this thread

Also Walter sux, it was an interesting concept of mounted archery, but in reality we got a friends-with-monsters guy who can't befriend any monsters, a nature-loving boy scout whos gameplay is bird genocide, and a tree-lover who grows marble trees instead of regular ones.

I hope he will get some necessary treatment when his time comes, and i don't think it should be tied to beefalos.

1. We don't see beefalo hp in combat. Too long to tame, too easy to lose.

2. Without mods like Show Me, players will never know what obedience is, and that feeding beefalo 10 grass is somehow better than juicy steamed twigs or a dragon pie.

3. Breaking saddles and having a special item to prevent it is lame. Shake it off, but don't break. Removing with the hook should be used only if you want to put on a different saddle

???

it never was, slingshot is his least useful perk

where did that come from?

inefficient and pointless

slingshot isn't worth it

the point was that they want big woby to get better because beefalos got better because rider beefalos and big woby are used for same thing

I mean, I hate to be that guy, but taming beefalo is actually really easy if you just stop overthinking it. (this is why I think the item that allows showing obedience etc should just be allowed)

Just feed the beefalo 10 times before you get on, and ride for a few seconds before hoping off, repeat. after like a day of this, just hop off to pick stuff up occasionally. It's just not actually complicated. people overthink it way too much. which is why I find attitudes like

they should be at least somewhat difficult to tame

THIS

kinda funny. like if someone actually knows the mechanics, it's cheap and easy, if they don't, it's wildly confusing. why lock a mechanic behind looking up how to do it. it's not like you need it if you know what to do. and it's not like it'll be easier just because people actually know what they're doing. it's just giving some extra information for players.

my only real problem is that I'm actually not a big fan of "bars" for knowing everything going on in the world all the time. I don't think we should know boss' current health for example. but as far as actual mechanical advantages for players, not having to randomly hop off the beefalo, isn't the biggest deal.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are back on air!
