I was inspired by this banger art post from reddit, and it looked a lot like a MTG card art, so here we are.

 

Let's get a thread going of more creative MTG + DST crossover cards.

Tip: You can use MTG Cardsmith to create the cards.

I like the idea and the drawings but have no idea for a card and i don't draw well enough. I may come back with something later, no promises

I would say though that your sanity counters on Wickerbottom seem to do nothing  (you could modify it to something like "you may remove a number of sanity counters from Wickerbottom, Librarian equal to this spell's mana cost. If you do, you may cast this spell from your graveyard for its mana cost at the beginning of your next upkeep") and the Maxwell one is not phrased like a magic card (it should have been something like "create X 2/1 black Shadow creature tokens and put that many insanity counters on Maxwell, Shadow Master" or "For each token created this way, put an insanity counter" and for the 2nd part "At the beginning of your upkeep, Maxwell, Shadow Master deals 1 damage to you for each insanity counter on it, then create a 2/1 black Shadow creature token" or "you lose 1 life for each insanity counter on Maxwell, Shadow Master")

Hi, I got a few card ideas for you. It was hard to find cool pictures so I just took some from steam (and got super lazy with the spider den's one). You can change them if you want and even change the text and all.

I had an idea with Wendy but I saw you made her already. The ghost token should be legendary though, else there will be multiple copies of Abigail at some point (something like "each time Wendy attacks, you may create Abigail, a legendary 3/3 etc."

There are search engines dedicated to magic cards, I used one to make mines look they are real ones, but there may still be mistakes, especially with the spider den (which doesn't look like a real card at all with this picture )

I found mtgcardsmith hard to use so I used https://mtg.design/ (actually I mixed both and edited with paint)

Yeah It has been super long to write, though, the idea was to have the spider den enter the battlefield under the control of an opponent and copy it under their control unless you manage to kill the den, which could result in the spiders killing you.

I agree that "When this creature is destroyed, the controller of the spell, ability, or the source of the damage that destroyed it creates a food token" looks overly complex (and I don't even know if saying that is enough), but there is no magic card I found that says "kill". I believe there is no keyword for it (the keyword is "dies"). And the card in general is complex, like you can't almost read it ^^

Maybe it could be something else that would say "When a Spider an opponent controls dies, create a Food token" (birdcage artifact?)

I just made this one too :

I was thinking about making some more lightsource artifact cards, like the morning star an more spiders like the spider warrior or the spider queen. And maybe modify Winona to give her Protection from Charlie planeswalkers instead of her first ability (it would be weaker but more logical), and change her to a 2/3 (I made her from the Wolfgang card I was making, she has no reason to have higher stats than the others)

But now I have to sleep

It is unlikely that there will be real magic cards with Don't Starve characters anyway. It is just a thread about nice cards we enjoy inventing

This thread is triggering my PTS from playing MTGA. MTGA single-handedly ruined my potential to enjoy MTG.

Is MTG still a stable card game? I tried playing Yugioh awhile ago and only really had up to the GX generation of cards. Some crazy mofo was able to win the rock-paper-scissors game on me to go first and his turn lasted like 10 minutes, and he got Exodia on me before I could even take my first turn! I imagine a game as old as MTG has the same issues no?

Hmm, blue doesn't really fit Walani. As far as I know, she has no ambition for knowledge or anything of that kind. I'd say she's more red, since she is such a free person, but then again, red's core is emotion and Walani is "The unperturbed"... Such a dilemma.

Blue doesn't fit Walani, yes. Simic fits Walani.

Red doesn't fit her, as she is never in a rush.

MTG is not yugioh.

Games are actually fun.

The recent lord of the rings expansion revitalized my love for the game, it was quite well made. You can try it out on MTGArena, it has a lot of free decks. Go to the category called "Starter deck play", it is balanced.

I am still playing Magic with paper cards with friends, some have their own cards and if they don't they just borrow mine. The new ones that are on MTG Arena also have paper versions of them (at least many do).

There are different eras of magic, you can tell when you look at how a card looks (the cards in this thread have the newest design).

You can clearly see that the 3 cards above are not alike (these are real ones).

The cards that really were broken were from very early versions of magic, will not be printed again, and cost thousands of dollars. The most expensive were sold at auction at a bit less than 20k$. It is unlikely that you will see anyone that owns one playing it outside of a competition, I think these are people that are dedicating their life to the cards.

There are different formats of magic (Modern, Standard, ...) and most only include the newest cards and ban those that are too strong (used in too many decks). You can still play with any cards if you play with friends that's what I do and I've never seen anyone win the game in turn 1 even winning in turn 5 seems like the game was exceptionally short.

I have a mono-blue at home and half my creatures are sea monsters (krakens, leviathans, octopuses). So I'd say even mono-blue could have done it. There are some cheap 1 mana unblockable mermfolk or creatures with islandwalk in mono-blue too.

I saw you version of Charlie (but mine is better haha ^^). Have you tried mtg.design? It lets you to write more things that cardsmith does. I liked the Walani one too. I tried to find some cool arts made by fans, but I can't find any that are as cool as the ones you found.

I have been thinking a bit but am too lazy to make new cards now, I think I'll just wait and see if someone else does.

To be fair, sanity/insanity counters would be a nice mechanic with more cards to support it.

You could definitely make a set centered around it.

For anyone who is a big lotr/tolkien fan who enjoys card/board games but doesn't like MTG I HIGHLY recommend the FFG Lord of the Rings Living Card Game.

It is a co operative card game in which you take on quests or campaigns against an encounter deck. You can play solo or two hand/deck solo on your own if you don't have anyone to play with. It is the most thematic and true to the lore/text lotr game of any format I have ever played. It has a ton of what if/theoretical quests as well as the actual story from LOTR but all the "made up" or theoretical quests still stay very very true to the lore.

Endless deck building and there is an absolute ton of quests to play that always play differently depending on both your choices and what deck you create/use as well as what appears from the encounter deck. Unlike MTG there is no gambling or RNG to products you buy and they always contain both player cards and quest/s (except for a few specific products in the new product line) and you always know exactly what you are getting.

It is my favourite non-video game hands down and has absolutely fantastic mechanics and gameplay. Both an Arkham and Marvel themed game have been based off of it. 

If you are a big tolkien fan and haven't heard of it/checked it out do yourself a favor and do so.
