The Umbralla should be able to summon temporary shelter

Recommended Posts

I think it would be a great way to give the Umbralla unique utility that it lacks otherwise. For example, it could be used to summon temporary shelter, similar to how the Star Caller's staff works, creating a canopy of shade reminiscent of an above-average tree trunk. Alternatively, players could toggle it while leaving it on the ground to produce the same effect.

In addition to providing portable shelter and shade, the Umbralla could also offer protection from the moon, countering the onset of lunacy typically found in moon-related areas. This feature could also finally provide a means for Woodie players to prevent full moon transformations.

Also, I find the name 'Umbralla' a bit cumbersome to say. Personally, I think 'Parasoul' would be an easier-to-pronounce alternative, but that may just be me nitpicking.

Seems general consensus is Umbralla is a fine name. Fair enough.

This could actually work like you drop it on the ground and it already has a standing model i think? And if it's active you could close it to deactivate it as a secondary action primary action should be pick up. And i also saw someone metion that the model is too big and this could be a reason to keep it that way. umbralla sounds cooler sorry

Another idea that could boost the Umbralla’s utility is to grant every creature, that is under the shadow of the summoned shelter, invisibility to every creature outside of its range. Effectively isolating any amount of chosen creatures from any outside assistance. It could also have the added benefit of defusing pirate raids, since they don’t know where you went.

This would be extraordinarily useful against Brightshade clusters and has unique utility outside of the last couple updates.

I think this is my favorite idea for this item. A lot of the complaints I've seen is that you need to give up your hand slot for protection from the acid rain. This fixes those complaints and makes it really useful both above and below ground (which for a post FW umbrella, is perfectly fine)
