Happy 10th Birthday, Don't Starve!

Seems like I'm the first to say this. Surprising, considering it's been mentioned in the DST Roadmap for this year.

Correction: I'm the first to say this here. Still weird, since it's the anniversary of this game.

Because the last years Don't Starve (I mean NOT Don't Starve Together) got almost nothing in content. And it is so sad that DST will grow and celebrate the ten year anniversary, while DS is like on the grave, without a developer that was used to be a modder, it even will be ignored. The DS still gets nothing big, for now... So when many people think of Don't Starve, they always think of Don't Starve Together, as if the single player DS does not exist. If DS get something new from DST (such as the skin system), it may be bring DS to live, which is something I want to see.

Technically Don’t Starve Together is a DLC Expansion pack to DS, but Solo DS DID get an update, a massive bug fix, a massive QoL (that includes brand new content) I mean yeah it’s not a new Shipwrecked or Hamlet sized expansion- but at least it is something.. and honestly, how many developers you know of that still do updates to their Decade old game? Klei is one of the rare exceptions.

What annoys me the most is that when DST got first announced it was said that they didn't want to segregate content from singleplayer but that's exactly what happened, planned or not.

If DS had skins like mentioned earlier then I feel like they would still have some money incentive to keep updating it without making big DLC. I want to drop my money on all the cool skins but I can't because I know I will almost never play DST.

I know some people view it as a sequel or an expansion but DST kind of always felt like a redo or a remake with multiplayer. Maybe it they didnt intend for this to be the case at the beginning but thats kinda what has happened.

If this makes you feel better, Klei are currently experimenting with skins in their other single player game, Oxygen not Included, and if it's a success, who knows.

mannn, I was hoping Klei does something with DS today, like finish the beta to launch the official bug fix, surprise announcement, or maybe upcoming DLC wip
but the "little gift" they said end up being 2 skin for DST instead

like come on, it's DS 10th anniversary, not DST anniversary....
