Twitch Drop Concerns

Recommended Posts

I was informed that the New Thulecite Club Twitch drop will be transparent I have some concerns with the art because of that. I'm not sure how this skin looks in game but I atleast want to bring attention to these facts. All I'm asking for is small considerations, nothing big.

The outline for this item looks too thick, and I think it should be reduced.

when something is implying transparency but still very opaque it usually has a coloured outline, I feel like this is normally the standard and I have provided examples.

I have no idea who told you that, but all we ambassadors were informed of is that this is what the new twitch drop looks like and for what skin it is.

Just by looking at this art, I would guess if anything was to be transparent it would be parts of the item, not the whole thing; namely the stained glass-looking bits in the middle. I would assume things like the hilt, the spikes, and the thulecite part are still meant to be opaque if not the entire thing and therefore doesn't make sense to change the entire outline to this brownish color.

I'll have to see it in-game before I pass honest judgement. I'm favoring the one with black outlines, reminds me of bottles and the like.
I think the black outlines work on what's a much larger skin.

It was said in one of the smaller modding discords for the game that houses a few devs. I had asked if the final product would be transparent (What's shown is the swap icon, which isn't!) and got notified the final product would be. This may change, but this is what was shared.

EDIT: I should clarify, in almost every case the twitch drop notification icons that ambassadors are given are showing previews of the swap icon, which is a lower quality/early render of the final product and doesn't always match up with the actual in-game sprite.
The most notable example of this is the anchor skin, which looks entirely different compared to the image shown by twitch prviews.

We will have to wait and see in game, But I at least want to bring attention to it before it drops so Klei is aware the issues I have with it, because other people might share my opinion and hopefully they will change it, they do change things if enough people complain. If it does come out and we see that's it's fine in game, no skin off their back.

that is why only coloured the stain glass part. If that was not plainly obvious.

You colored the outlines of the thulecite and spikes, which in my mind would be opaque. Sorry if my original comment wasn't clear.

Oh okay I see what you mean now, it's hard to tell since the teaser isn't transparent but I'd imagine they'd be transparent too.

They're shaded the same as the rest of the glass part of the club, so it seems like they would
