Servers should allow push-to-talk or proximity voice chat

Recommended Posts

This could be really useful, but you shall consider putting a voice chat system inside the game use really, really difficult to do, especially after the fact that the whole game is based on a custom engine based on C++ with a major part coded in LUA, so there is no external support like it would be with unity and its tons of addons.

You should also think about how VC would be managed, for example Caves are hosted in different server than the surface, so, as far as I know a global VC would need to connect those two.

Imp it requires way too much work.

I mean they have it in the console version of the game, I don't think it's that difficult. I think it should be an option but then again there is always discord to just communicate with ppl.

I would imagine in the case of console, its externally supported by their consoles API's, though that is a simple guess from me.

maybe they can add quick message like some games have where you press a key or pop-up and then can quickly press the message you wanna send. Like it can be some preset messages you can set then you send it and it goes on a 5 second cooldown.

like "Help me!", "Starving!", "I'm dying!", "Ahhh, sombody drop a dragonpie!", "Where is base?"
