Can Nightmare hostility update faster in relation to player sanity?

This has been a big annoyance to me since forever and im sure a lot of other people have had to deal with this too:

this crawling horror tried to bite me 3 times while my sanity was 80+ before it pacified... (edit: forgot to mention i didnt attack it even once, so it wasnt me refreshing the aggro)

Can their hostility not be updated faster if the player's sanity is above the threshold?

Currently it seems like nightmares who have aggro'd onto the player MUST reach the player and attempt an attack before their AI can recognize the player's sanity level and pacify if it is above the threshold.. and even then this update can fail multiple times.. this is incredibly annoying.

It is very annoying, yesterday i was playing and read a book in the boat, so the water version of terrorbeak spawned, i jumped into the lunar island and it transformed into terrorbeak and started attacking me, after some time it lose the aggro but it didnt despawn, it was waiting for me to enter the boat again lol

Yeah, it should really not last more than a single attempt at attacking, it makes sense that it will at least try to bite you out once, as it's the effect you're meant to have by going trough the insanity but them harassing you for 20 seconds at full sanity is just horrible.

And it's actually not even fun in the cases I want to actually try to attack them while sane, you see one out, you try to kill it for random bonus nightmare fuel and before the last hit needed it stops the fight, like, bruh, best word to describe it, I wish I was at least assured of getting or not getting it more than a coin flip.

yeah it's one of those very few things that make me literally mad in this game.

And how does it always happen that when you finally decide to try and kill it because it doesn't seem to ever deaggro, it just despawns/deaggros one hit away from death.
